Some days you just have to go for a sunset ride with your favorite people!!! Been having so much fun with my two cousins visiting from Germany and my big bro!
Cardamom is such a perfect boy… from coming in 3rd at Tevis 3 weeks ago to teaching my cousin how to ride🥹 Not sure who I’m more proud of, but it’s fun to see how much they are enjoying each other!
Oh and Sultan is a pretty great guy too🐴😎

Tevis 2024 is in the books!!!
My heart is bursting with pride for how well Cardamom did and just because of how much I love that horse 🥰
He seriously couldn’t have been any better! He is such an amazing horse and I trusted him 10000% on some of the toughest trails and through the most difficult 100 mile race in the world.
It was a bit of an emotional day, unfortunately our bestie riding partners, my mom and Pyro, were pulled at 36 miles! We had so much fun riding together and Pyro was a BEAST!! So heartbreaking, but it wasn’t anything serious he was just a little off. He was totally fine a few minutes later - which sometimes makes it even worse😅
Cardi cruised us into a solid 3rd place finish. He was strong all day, with low heart rates, great CRIs and solid vet scores. His pulse was 48 at deadwood, 52/52 CRI at Robinson, Chicken Hawk and Forest Hill and a 56/56 CRI with straight As at the finish. We took it pretty easy through the canyons since it was HOT and he had a ton left in the tank after Forest Hill (68 miles).
We started picking up the pace leaving Forest Hill when about 5 miles out we witnessed a disturbing trail accident involving another horse. It took the wind out of our sails and I was just doing my best to focus on getting my confidence back. Cardi helped me work through some of that and by the time we got back to wider trails we were ready to make up some time!
Cardi and I enjoyed the most beautiful sunset along the American river, cruised through the river in the light and flew down the trail until the full moon lit up the winding trails to finish.
We had a great ride and a huge thanks goes to my dad and brother for being the bestest crew ever!!! Wouldn’t have been half the race without them and my mom who stepped up to crew after she was pulled. Also so grateful for continued support, as well as the countless volunteers and friends that helped out and sent their support!
We made it home and Cardmom is as fresh and sassy as can be and loving all the attention and spoiling he is getting!

Just wanted to brag a little on our Purebred Arab gelding- RA Ares Bey😆
I feel like "Goober" is a great representative of the breed we love so much!
He is super smart, has so much heart, he is beautiful, personable and FAST!
Goober has made a name for himself as an endurance horse. He is most well known for winning the Tevis Cup in 2019 - The most famous 100 mile endurance race:). We got Goober for free off of Craigslist when he was almost 2.
He is also the equine protagonist in my book "Chasing Dreams". It's the ultimate underdog story!
But Goober's talents aren't limited to being a racehorse! He has been coming with me on my book talks to schools and patiently lets 300 elementary school kids pet him - some had never touched a horse before! Goober has not only completed the Tevis Cup 4 times, but also teaches kids how to ride. He's the bestest boy, but still lives up to his name😆
