Matt Piccolo, owner and head trainer of Arrow Hill Farm, hails from outside of Boston Massachusetts, where he grew up riding horses and showing all over New England and the East Coast with Deborah Hoyt-Banfield. He graduated from the University of Findlay in 2008 where he was an active competitor on the school’s IHSA varsity team in the Open Division. Since
graduating Findlay, Matt spent two years working in Memphis, TN at David Pellegrini’s Spring Mill Farm. He trained children and adults alike to many competitive wins both locally and nationally including ribbons at Pony Finals and Indoors. During his time in Memphis, Matt was a member of the Board for the WTHJA and was an active member and competitor in the local horse show scene. Matt spent the next four years with Nashville professional rider/trainer/judge, David Wright, at Hunters Court Stables in Murfreesboro, TN where he worked to develop many quality young hunters and jumpers. It was under David's tutelage that Matt gained a better understanding of all the variables that go into keeping great show horses, to keep them happy and healthy, and provide them with the care they deserve. In his time at Hunters Court Stables, Matt also coached the Vanderbilt University Equestrian Team where he coached them to regional wins and individual ribbons on the national level. While Matt specializes in developing and training young hunters and show jumpers, he also maintains seasoned competition horses and has a passion for teaching all ages and abilities.
