We are always happy to see our reptile friends here at UVCC, so join us for National Reptile Awareness Day! It's an international event designed to celebrate the diversity of reptiles and it promotes education, conservation, and appreciation for reptiles. It is a day to learn about their natural habitats and the ecological threats that they are facing.

The appreciation that is shown to all our staff members by our private clinic owners is AMAZING! They got us all these great swag shirts. In return the entire staff wanted to show their appreciation for our clients and animals by creating these awesome UVCC bandanas' that will he given out at our Open House on Oct. 19th from 1-4pm. Please stop by and get one while supplies last!

Staff appreciation week is going well. Monday the staff enjoyed some great breakfast pizza and coffee. Today we handed out goodie bags. The staff couldn't grab them fast enough to see what kind of things they got this year.
If you would like a goodie bag as well for your dog or cat please stop by our open house on Oct 19th from 1-4, while supplies last.

You know we're proud to have some amazing RVTs on staff and we're celebrating them all week long with National Veterinary Technician Week! They keep our clinic running like a well oiled machine and we are so lucky to be able to share their skills with the community!

According to the Association for Pet Obesity, 59% of cats and 54% of dogs in the United States are overweight or obese! National Pet Wellness Month is a great time to check out these tips to help your pet stay in the best shape!

* Make sure your pet gets exercise daily. Take plenty of walks, jogs, or give them room to run! Toys and enrichment activities can help provide additional exercise.

* Feed a species-appropriate diet to your pet and follow recommended feeding guidelines. Specialized weight loss diets are also available!

* Say no to table foods! Some human foods can be healthy for pets, but do your research for what is safe and remember: everything in moderation!

* Feed your pets healthy, all-natural treats. Treats with added fillers and artificial ingredients can cause your pet to gain weight.
