Starting our Friday as we do every Friday, with an early-morning run to Maryland for spay/neuter day! Between The Spay Spot and The Celtic Cat, LLC, we have 37 pets headed to see vet partners today for spay/neuter surgeries and vaccinations.

As you’re planning your weekend, don’t forget about the multiple opportunities we have for you to meet our adoptable animals!

Pet Parenting Classes

Next workshop is October 5, 2024 at 12 p.m.

Learn what it takes to be a responsible pet owner and a great family host to a four-legged friend for a lifetime. Topics such as time, cost, food, toys, medical, safety, social, and more will be covered in Q&A.

Classes meet the first Saturday of each month at noon throughout 2024!

Thanks to the help of the caretaker who made sure the cats were hungry, we were able to trap all of their yard cats yesterday. And a huge THANK YOU to The Spay Spot for getting them all spayed, neutered, vaccinated for rabies and distemper and treated for fleas and ticks today. If you are on our TNR waiting list we are getting to everyone as quickly as possible.

Meet Big Ben, a lovable 6-year-old Great Dane/Lab mix searching for a forever family to shower with affection. At 93 pounds, Ben is a gentle giant who’s great with other dogs and is gradually learning how to play with cats. He’s house and crate trained, and he knows commands like sit, paw, and lay down. This sweet boy is currently being treated for a skin infection, but he's healing well and making great progress. Big Ben neutered, microchipped and up to date on all his vaccines and heartworm tests, ready to find a loving home where he can truly thrive.
Adoption fee is waived but the application process is not. We have 90 animals coming back from foster care for tomorrow’s vet visits and spay/neuter surgeries. 🤯

We don’t spend a lot of time talking about what it takes to make all this happen behind the scenes, but there’s an astronomical amount of work and coordination that goes into getting animals from shelters, vetted, placed into foster care, supporting fosters while they are working hard to socialize and prepare those animals for new homes, scheduled for vaccine appointments, scheduled for spay/neuter, transported to and from our vet partners, ready for adoption day, etc.

Thanks so much to the mighty mighty team of fosters, volunteers, and staff members that work every week to change lives! And thank you to our friends at The Celtic Cat, LLC and The Spay Spot for accommodating the mountain of animals we throw at them every Friday…we’re glad to have you in our rescue village!

Helping all the kitties!!

when we ask for $5.00 to support our work.

This female will not have the burden of kittens. She was spayed on Monday at The Spay Spot . This is the 35th cat from her colony. We think there are just 2 cats left to trap at this location.

Lately, we have been dealing with quite large colonies. We know we can count on our caring community to improve the lives of community cats!
