Spring is here and the weather is getting warmer! Please keep in mind that we do book out during the summer and we are starting to pick up now. We are currently booking out about 2 weeks and it will get busier going forward. Book your appointments in advance to assure you’re not stuck waiting. Have a safe, happy summer! 😎

I’m sad to have to make this post.

We have noticed that since Covid people have slowed down on tipping. Since we raised prices in June, even less people are tipping. Anytime a business provides you with a service, tipping is part of the pay. This includes wait staff, hair dressers, tattoo artists, groomers, and any other business that aren’t selling a tangeable product.

We understand that some people are on fixed incomes and cannot afford to tip. We have many senior clients and low income clients and we keep that in mind always.

If tipping sounds like it’s too much after paying for the groom, let me show you how much money your groomer actually makes. A typical small dog groom is $50. It takes a groomer around 2 hours to finish the groom. The groomer only gets 50% of the groom cost, so $25 for two hours of work. That’s $12/hr. This is a normal pay rate at any grooming salon.

Groomers are making $12/hr for a trade skill job. A job where they take care of your sweet baby and you trust them to do so. Fast food starts at around $15/hr now. There is a groomer shortage which means salons are booking out weeks trying to accommodate everyone. There isn’t a surge of new groomers out there like there used to be, because the pay isn’t what it used to be.

Please keep this in mind when picking up your baby.
