Dear Compassionate Care Family,
I want to personally thank each and every one of you for allowing me to care for your furry family members over the past 12 years. I have a fondness in my heart for every patient I have had the privilege of caring for since opening the clinic. I value not just the animal bonds I have formed, but the personal bonds as well.
The last few years I have felt my heart calling me to spend more time with my children. As many of you know, several relief Doctors have afforded me this invaluable time away from work. Unfortunately, like many other businesses, it is difficult to find adequate staff to maintain growing businesses and provide consistent service. This, combined with my desire to spend more time with my family, has caused me to evaluate what direction I feel that Compassionate Care will take in the future.
After years of thoughtful discussion, business consultation and many prayers, we have decided to say goodbye to this chapter of our life, and sadly, close Compassionate Care Veterinary Clinic. This has been a very difficult decision and one I have wrestled with for many sleepless nights and with many tears. I will miss every one of my patients and their families, however, I feel my heart calling me to spend more time with my family.
Our last day of veterinary operation at Compassionate Care will be May 12, 2023. I will continue practicing locally, in a much smaller capacity, with my friends and colleagues at Companion Animal Clinic & Pet Resort in Cedar Falls. I plan to take the summer to spend with family and will begin practicing there in the fall once school starts. In the meantime, all medical records will be transferred to Companion Animal Clinic in the event you need them, or if you wish to continue your medical or surgical care with me. Should you need medical care during this gap in time, I have complete trust in the capability and medicine provided by the staff at Companion Animal Clinic and would recommend that you allow them to care for your loved ones. Our groomer, Makayla, will continue to groom either at our location or locally. She can be reached at 319-269-0229 to set future appointments. Those of you who have regular or lifelong medication needs, we would encourage you to call us before the 12th, and we can help make arrangements so that the transition is more convenient until I return in the fall. After May 12th, I will monitor the clinic email at [email protected]. Please allow up to a week to respond.
I greatly appreciate all your support and understanding during this transition, and I am eternally grateful for you entrusting me to care for your loved ones over the years. I love this community and I sincerely look forward to seeing you again at Companion Animal Clinic.
Sincerely,
Lindsey Keller, DVM
