So proud of my longtime friend and student Sammi Jo Stohler riding Patrick Orlaska’s Friesian sporthorse Gunner for a super I2 debut with solid scores.
It’s been so gratifying to see SJ develop Gunner all the way from a gangly 2yro to a confirmed I2 horse ❤️.
🥂 to an amazing journey that just keeps getting better every year.

We are very excited to announce that our new gate is up and fully operational here at EWD 🎉.
The Cody gate is memorial to our first “mature” free roamer and one of the most wonderful horses, who directly influenced the lives of more people then any horse I’ve ever known. Mary Hale so many great memories of and with your special boy ❤️.

Baby Essah getting her trail horse on ❤️. She continues to be absolutely wonderful. At almost 4 she does an easy, forward wtc under saddle with no need to lunge even if she has a couple weeks off (trainers horse problems 🤷‍♀️) can hack around the property by herself, walks over logs etc. while always thinking rationally and problem solving even when she has good young horse reasons to be worried about something. Bonus points that even at this stage of development her back has a super soft spring to sit on.
I probably won’t show her much the next few years since she doesn’t really need a lot of those kind of miles to develop mentally and she has everything I want in a future FEI horse 😍.

Congratulations to our assistant trainer Sierra Kahler on earning the final scores for her bronze🥉medal this weekend 🎉💫 Aboard my own Chancellor WAS (bred by Walkabout Station.
After 8ish years here as my working student this was her first opportunity to show after graduating from the YR ranks and she did a fantastic job with scores to 69.7% winning 3 out of four open classes.
We are so proud of you not just for your skills as a rider but also for your commitment to always put the horse first in everything you do and your honor and grace in your interactions with all species of beings.

My favorite quote to sum it all up “Dressage is the systematic development of the natural ability of the horse”
Can’t wait to get home and put it all to use on horses and riders alike.

I’m so excited to announce the newest addition to my horse family Rinessah WS! 🎉
It was ❤️ At first sight for me and I’m throughly grateful to Jan and Gary with Walkabout Station for offering me the opportunity to purchase this special filly especially since she was always supposed to be their keeper filly to follow in her mothers hoof prints.

Rinessah is a 2yro Hanoverian filly by Rascalino out of EM Winessa (DeNiro/Furioso II so she is half sister to my stallion Be Niro WS “Ben” and I can’t wait to get her home and start showing her the rest of the world.

Hanging in the pasture with Buddy, watching the fireworks and all our well desensitized horses continuing to graze peacefully while the less desensitized ones are jamming out to old country music with every light on in the barns. It’s a good life.

So much fun coaching at Haras Spring Dressage on this beautiful spring weekend 🌴💐☀️

Cindy and Buca rocked the PSG with ever increasingly solid rides at only Buca’s second show of the level earning two 1sts and qualifying for regionals.

Parrish showed Inky for each of their first competitive outing in several years doing third level and earning scores to mid 60’s. Even at 24 this horse is still electric in his shear enthusiasm for everything he does and Parrish has done a great job keeping him fit and happy while directing all that energy.

Sarah and Prada debuted their freestyle at third level with two nice solid rides.

Sarah Falk and Rosie rocked their first recognized show together and Sarah’s first recognized show in many years earning scores to 66% and the first two scores towards Sarah’s bronze.

Great job team! Next stop spring classic for Sammi Jo and I next weekend 🎉

Zoe’s first CDI was a success! We did the large tour and were Reserve for the I2 and third in the GP. So proud of this wonderful mare and how far she has come ❤️ .
It takes a team and we are lucky to have a absolutely amazing team.

Our 2020 EWD Regional Championships recap....Better late then never right?
This year was different from past years and we are so grateful to have been able to attend this year at all.
A huge thank you to the show management and volunteers who made everything run so smoothly. Y’all are amazing!
Team highlights include
Erika and Zoe earning the GAIG Grand Prix freestyle Championship 🎉 they were also 6th and 5th in the SWDC GP and GP FS.
Whit and Charles had two lovely GP’s finishing third in both the GAIG and SWDC Championships.
Erika and Ben debuted 4th level with scores to 74% which earned them 1st place, high point 4th level AND the Hadley Lamberty Trophy for being the highest scoring trainer ridden horse in the open show.
Sammi Jo with Gunner and Shamrock racked up some great experience getting better over the course of the weekend.
Mary and Leo also had a productive experience at their first regionals and a successful debut at first level.

Zoe was a rockstar at this weekends Emerald Classic show earning a 69.7% and a 71.5% which is a new personal best for Erika and Zoe in the Grand Prix freestyle ❤️We are so proud of this wonderful mare and especially how brave and relaxed she has become even in the show environment.

Started 2020 off with a bang! Erika debuted Anine Pedersen’s mare Dark Lady in the PSG class at the HDS Winter Show with scores to 68%! So proud of this mare and how far she has come 🎉.
Erika then hopped on a plane for the FEI Trainers Conference in FL. Such a fantastic educational event!
Excited to be home and ready to resume training 🎉

I successfully got all my client horses worked before the fireworks kicked into full gear and I figured Ben would be good to work during since he’s generally a pretty unflappable individual but I was throughly impressed that he didn’t even startle once! Like not even a mild startle. I’m frequently blown away that I actually own a horse this cool but tonight I have extra warm fuzzies 😍 Happy New Years everyone!
