This horse right here has been with me in one way or another either in training riding or in my barn since he was six years old, he is now 20 and if any one of you know CD you can do anything in the world on him and he will literally leave what he’s doing including his favorite thing which is eating for his fly mask!!
This young lady started coming out about month ago to have me help her polish her skills and I’ve got to say she’s a great student does exactly what you tell her to do and it is showing with her horsemanship thank you Haley and the sullins Family for allowing me the opportunity to coach this great team
It was working the poles with Zoe and her relatively new horse rebel I knew he was going to be a really good barrel horse but never in my mind did I think he would be as good going through the poles This is a little of where he is
3rd day with this baby got done working her and un saddling her and gave her a bath, yes she is hobbled it’s one of the 1st thing I teach these babies .not only is it a pet peeve of mine to have a horse walking all over you when you’re trying to bath, saddle or mount ,But if you’ve ever hauled the baby somewhere and tied them to your trailer how do you like the holes that they dig standing there ? this stops that it helps them to learn patience .day three down for this babyso far she is aceing her class!
Well we had our February run for YPBRA today and my group did great zoe and Gwen won the C goats, Zoe 1st gwen 2 nd then Gwen won the E barrels on her young mare and moved up to C barrels in the prosses and to finish it off she won2 Nd in the C poles on her too.dana ran with bruised ribs but will try again in linchfield park tomorrow, these girls show up to all the runs every time and that makes me proud!
Had Great morning with our good friends Dale and Christie McKay, Dana and I took our horses down and worked a little bit on cattle and just a different arena this young horse that I’ve had two weeks today he’s just confirming what I already know that he is going to be the real deal I just put him on the pattern a couple of times and he is already figuring out where to go and how to turn them smoothly stay tuned for more update
Had a great weekend at YPBRA run every one of my kids and adults ended up either winning money or making the fastest runs that they have to date and moving up a class I was pretty busy didn’t have a lot of time to take videos or pictures but if you were there Thank you and if you weren’t you’re missing a really good family-based event. the one video I did get is of Mckenna a.k.a. big Mac running our flag right before the start just want to let America know we got your back!!
Friday night 630 pm and 103 degrees, yep this is the recipe for success ! Ava came out to ride along with Zoe the season is just around the corner and slow work is important there will be a time to go fast and that’s at the run #slowisfast
