Fulham Gardens Animal Hospital - Pets and their People …because everyone deserves a vet they can trust. Pets and their People is a team founded by Alan Dalgarno, Veronica Wah Day and Peter Hangartner.
(37)

Since 1998 we have been caring for your pets at the Unley, Fulham Gardens and Black Forest Veterinary Surgeries. In 2013 Pets and their People was created and every member of our teams recognizes that you and your pet share a unique bond. As pet owners the bond we share with our pets greatly enhance our lives, bringing joy and companionship, creating strong social and community networks, enhancing

physical and mental health and well being. Facilities and equipment are merely part of the foundation of what we do…Our vets and nurses thrive on continuing education, and as a team we continually analyse what and why we do things. We have a diverse team of professionals that share a common set of values especially regarding the important role pets play in our lives. We strive to be great communicators and offer the highest standard of veterinary care. We then tailoring that care to suit you and your pets individual needs. We see our role as providing opportunities to maintain and optimise your relationship with your pet. Together with our great team, our mission is to continue to care for you and your pets to enhance your lives together. We have three Adelaide vet surgery locations: Fulham Gardens Vet Surgery in Adelaide's western suburbs, Unley Vet and Black Forest Vet Surgeries in Adelaide's inner eastern and southern suburbs.

PLEASE familiarise yourself with the chart below!

We hope you never have to come across a snake bite with your fur-babies, but if you live in high snake prone areas (bushland, creeklines & grasslands) then its good to be aware of the dangers snakes can cause our pets 🐾

As spring has well and truly settled in, it’s that time of year to talk about grass seeds! 🌱

Grass seeds can pe*****te through your pet’s skin and will often cause swelling at the site of entry (pictured in paw below) which then becomes irritated, some signs you may see with your dog if this happens is -
> Excessive licking of the area and/or chewing at paws
> Limping
> Redness/swelling

Grass seeds can also cause issues in other body parts such as ears & noses.
Especially your long haired furry-friends these should be checked regularly before any irritation begins, such as -
> Head shaking/scratching
> Swelling/redness
> Tilting of the head
> Excessive sneezing

Grass seeds can quickly travel to various areas of the body which can cause serious problems if not removed.

If you notice any of the above symptoms give us a call on 8355 5475 🐾

‼️Do you have a dog 8 years or older? ‼️

Researchers from the University of Adelaide are exploring the experiences of guardians who care for senior dogs.

This project is about Canine Cognitive Dysfunction (CCD), a disease likened to Alzheimer's in humans. CCD is a diagnosis by elimination and is estimated to affect up to 60% of dogs over the age of 8 years. There is no cure and only limited medications available for use to mitigate the signs of the disease. CCD does not usually shorten the lifespan of pet dogs and so the burden of caring for them can be significant.

If you have a dog over the age of 8 and are interested in completing this survey to help this study, follow the link below ⬇️
