The directors and owners invite QUALIFIED VETERINARIANS to apply for for the role: PERMANENT ON-GOING FULL-TIME or PART-TIME VETERINARIAN.
Our Business: We are privately owned for the past 30+ years. Dr Lynda Bonning & Howard Morey fully own the business & the large new premises, with no debt and all assets are owned and not leased. We have completely fitted out our hospital with the latest equipment, including full computerisation, digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound, laser and in-house haematology and biochemistry. Our clients are from the local area and some from all over greater Melbourne.
Our approximate case load is Dogs 60%, Cats 20%, Exotic Mammals (Ferrets, Rabbits, Guinea Pigs, Rats and Mice) 20%. We have separate hospitals. Downstairs we have a large waiting room, 3 consulting suites and Dog & Ferret hospital. Upstairs, Recovery / Preparation room, Main Surgery (2 tables), Dental Surgery, X-Ray, Ultrasound room, Staff areas, Cat hospital, Rat, Mice and Guinea Pig hospital and Staff room.
Our staff: We have 16 permanent staff, all with significant experience, and we operate with 4 Veterinarians each week day, 2 on Saturdays and 1 on Sunday.
The Position: The practice owner has a special interest in exotics, making this the perfect opportunity for someone with an interest in gaining experience in this area, as training can be provided. However, exotics interest or experience is not essential. Other Veterinarians have expertise in areas such as behaviour, ophthalmology, skin disease, and orthopaedic surgery.
The applicant: We are seeking a Veterinarian with good small animal consultation and surgical skills. Excellent client communication skills are essential.
The role is open to applications for a full-time or part-time Veterinarian. We are very flexible with family demands and currently have a number of part-time Veterinarians employed. We are open in regard to experience and hours worked. All staff are paid for all hours worked (not just rostered). Our consultations are 30 minutes, and we also schedule catch-up times during the day and breaks. We offer Veterinarians the opportunity for a variety of consultations, surgery and hospital cases. You will be paid for every hour you work, we pay a competitive hourly rate rather than a salary.
Clinic hours are 8:30 am to 6:30 pm, Monday to Friday. 8:30 am to 2:00 pm, on Saturday and 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Sundays (The owners work every second Sunday).
The successful applicant will become part of a seven Vet team.

The practice is in a great location, with convenient parking, and only a short walk to the (Surrey Hills) train station. The CBD is only a short drive away.
