The last week has come with the upsetting news that my big beautiful friend Bear has had to leave us earthside. I was so saddened to know that this big boy wouldn't be here with us much longer, but was so touched his family let me be a part of his last few days and got to give him some farewell cuddles and a special cheeseburger 🐾 I remember the first time I stayed with Bear he was still a little cautious of "the new lady" staying in his house to look after him and his brother. But after giving him plenty of space and time he chose to come over on his terms and plonked his lab bottom next to me on the floor and gently leaned on me signalling he wanted some cuddles. From then on I knew we were great friends. Bear was such a happy, beautiful, sweet, loyal boy and fierce protector of those he loved. Like most labs his life revolved around enjoying tasty snacks, looking forward to the next meal, playing and having fun, loving his family, brother and friends and being spoilt with TLC. And there was always a guarantee for a very excitable welcome at the door with a wiggly lab butt and a wagging tail that would knock someone right over - right up until his last few days when he was struggling. This gorgeous boy will be missed so very much by his family, me and everyone that knew and loved him. I'm so grateful to have been part of his journey earthside and will always treasure the time I got to spend with him 🙏 You will never be forgotten Big Bear 💙

The last 2 months have been a very sad time in the Amy's Animals family - 4 of my beautiful animal friends have passed away and left us earthside 🥺 The news that my sweet little white wombat and cuddle buddy Chloe had lost her battle was totally heartbreaking. Despite being almost 15 years old, having diabetes, being blind and deaf, this little munchkin was one of the most determined capable little dogs I've ever met. She still managed to enjoy all the little things in life and didn't let her challenges stop her or get in her way. All my time spent with her was always a reminder to slow down and enjoy the little things in life - a tasty meal or snack, warm sunshine on your face, exploring new places, a walk and loads of love and cuddles. Miss Chloe was one very special girl and I'm so grateful to have been part of her journey and for all the time I got to spend with her. She has definitely taken a piece of my heart with her. Will miss my favourite little cuddle buddy and she will never be forgotten 🐾💙

The last few days comes with the sad news that a friend and part of the Amy's Animals family has crossed the rainbow bridge. Captain was the most beautiful, gentle old soul. My time spent visiting him always reminded me to slow down, be present and enjoy the joy of the little things. I will miss coming to spoil you with lots of head massages, tummy rubs, go on slow strolls together and spoil you with warm BBQ chicken buddy. May you be resting easy now somewhere that offers 24/7 sunbaking, the best snacks and endless pats. I had the best time learning about Kelpies and working dogs at the Camden Country Show last weekend! This adorable little fella in the video was only 10 weeks old and this was only his second day getting to work with sheep. He hasn't been taught any skills or techniques by his owner yet......all his sheep herding skills here are pure instinct. Such clever doggos! Amazing to see them doing what they're bred for 🐾 Another interesting fact learnt was that a Kelpie working on a farm can easily cover 100kms of running ever day!
