What's in a caudal vena cava?

Here is a large intraluminal mass within the caudal vena cava. The patient had a right adrenal mass; this mass is likely a tumour or thrombus which has formed as a result of invasion by the right adrenal mass. What are the likely differentials for the right adrenal mass? NB the other large vessel you can see is the portal vein.

Haa-choo! What does this poor Golden Retriever have lurking in his nose? Seems to be melting away his turbinates......Answers tomorrow!

This was a tubular, sonolucent foreign body in the pylorus of a kitty cat. This reminds us that not all foreign bodies cause shadowing, and not all foreign bodies will cause a complete obstruction (tubular foreign bodies tend to let ingesta through their middle!).

Moving onto the organ most Aussies will be abusing this long weekend...the liver! What is causing the artifacts in the liver in this dog? Photos and answers tomorrow!

Am I a nerd, or are the turbinates in the canine nose one of the most beautiful things to see on CT? This dog had epistaxis but CT of the nose was normal, so off we go to look for systemic causes!

Ultrasound guided fine needle aspiration of an enlarged mandibular lymph node. This will help us avoid sampling the mandibular salivary gland which is a common problem! 🤔

Watch out for strings! Typical intestinal plication around a thin string foreign body. These are at risk of perforation and are an emergency.
