I recently did a house call to fully groom this sweet cat. It was his first groom and he did surprisingly well. Cats can be notoriously finicky, so I was proud of how well he did. There was a particular moment when he started to relax and even seemed to enjoy the attention. It was a heartwarming experience, and I'm so glad I could help him feel better.

Someone reached out to me last night to ask if I could drive these baby Squirrels in need of care to Sandy Pines Wildlife Centre. There were 5 babies to start, but 2 died sadly. The person who contacted me, took very good care to keep them warm and hydrated through the night. The bottle you see was filled with warm water to help maintain their body temperatures. I delivered them this morning to Sandy Pines Wildlife Centre. I will follow up tomorrow to ask how these babies are doing. ❤️

I had a purrfect morning at GiGi’s Cat Rescue Quinte, trimming tiny toenails and snuggling with adorable felines!

PEANUT (left picture) is ready to meet his new family.

OREO (right picture) is about six weeks old, and recovering from a Botfly wound.

My Joy of Cat Grooming

As I groom each cat, I derive immense satisfaction from knowing that my work improves their life. I feel a unique bond and connection with every cat that comes into my care. I'm always cognizant of their comfort and empathetic to their fears and stresses of being out of their comfort zones.

I understand that grooming can be a stressful experience for cats, so I'm always mindful of their emotional well-being. I gently handle them to create a safe and calming environment, making their experience as calm, pleasant and secure as possible.

The sense of accomplishment I feel when a cat leaves my care, free from discomfort and looking their best, is incredibly rewarding. I take pride in knowing that my work has made a tangible difference in their life, and that's the greatest joy of all.

This program aims to make this essential veterinary care more accessible and affordable for those who may struggle to cover the costs. Register Wednesday, September 4th. Please read below for full details.

Announcing an upcoming Low Cost Cat Spay Clinic for fixed income cat owners!
Clinic takes place on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 with mandatory registration on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at the shelter, 34 Wallbridge-Loyalist Rd, from 12-4:30.

Please note this is a spay clinic and is for female cats only.

Please bring government-issued photo ID and proof of fixed income to the registration. Fees are due at registration.

Clinic fees:
Cat Spay $40
Rabies Vaccine $25 (optional)
Microchip $20 (optional)

Open to residents of Hastings and Prince Edward Counties only.

This kitty got the full spa treatment! 🐱💅

De-shedded: loose hair removed
Brushed-out: tangles and mats gone
Bathed: squeaky clean fur
Nail trimmed: no more scratching furniture
Ear cleaned: no wax or dirt buildup
Sanitary trim: keeping her rear end tidy

And the best part? She learned to trust the process and relaxed into it! Cats can be notoriously finicky about baths, but she settled in and enjoyed the pampering. Did she get any treats? Oh, yes she did! 🐾💕

A HOUSE CALL HALF AN HOUR EAST OF BELLEVILLE TO GROOM THIS HANDSOME MAINE C**N.
He received a de-shedding and brush-out, along with a Nail Trim and Ear Cleaning. A Sanitary Trim was also done to help keep that area cleaner, and I shaved a little off inside both back legs for easier maintenance of knots developing. All done, he walked away majestically with his tail held high in the typical Maine C**n way ❤️
The 2nd picture is of my Maine C**n taken several years ago - he died last year a week before his 17th birthday. He was a big part of our family and friends. 😊

Persian cats originated from Iran (formerly known as Persia), where they were highly valued as palace cats. They were bred to have a long, fluffy coat and a flat face, and were often given as gifts to royal families in Europe.

They are calm and gentle, quiet and laid back, affectionate and playful, and not overly demanding.

For those of us who are familiar with Persians, we know how fine their fur is, and how easily it tangles. Despite our best efforts, it can easily get beyond our capabilities and patience! The sweet boy below was in for a groom. He did amazingly well while being groomed for a Lion Cut, and looks amazing with the contrast of his colours ♥️

Hello there, fellow felines and friends! I'm Pat, a sassy kitty with a passion for family time and mischief. My favorite pastime? Jumping on my mom's face - especially when she's snoozing! (Sorry, Mom!)
