We were honoured with the task of making sure everything went smoothly bringing this beautiful filly into the world this morning! Our barn is equipped with a swinging wall foaling stall from System Equine. The divider swings flush and secures to the wall to turn two 12 x 12 stalls into a 12 x 24 foaling stall. Welcome to Tartan Farms little lady!

It’s-42 degrees Celsius with the windchill here today, but the horses are all snug as bugs! The outdoor horses are keeping warm with an all they can eat hay buffet, blankets, heated auto waterers and shelters. We’re all looking forward to the chinook forecasted for Christmas Eve!

Happy Tartan Day! In honour of Tartan Day, here’s a little peek at what morning chores in the barn look like! We start our day at 6:30am, and we’re usually wrapping up morning chores between 9:30am and 10am. The horses get fed more hay outside at lunch, and more hay as well as grain when they come back inside in the evening. They get a nice big bedtime snack of… you guessed it! More hay! Our amazing dream team of barn staff takes the best care of all the horses here at Tartan Farms!
