Happy Star Wars Day to all! #MayTheFourthBeWithYou
To be honest, though, who would trust their cat with a lightsabre??
Remember, now that it's above zero ticks are out there, and the black-legged tick can carry Lyme disease.
To keep your pets protected, call us today!
We are not the only ones enjoying this balmy weather! Ticks are out! Be aware, and be prepared!
Clinic queen Josephine would like to thank everyone who has taken the time out of their busy schedules to send and deliver holiday cards and treats to all of us at the clinic! We truly appreciate each and every one of you!
Holiday hours for the clinic are as follows:
CLOSED Mon Dec 25, Tues Dec 26, and Mon Jan 1
Orherwise, we are open our regular hours, Mon to Fri 8 AM to 7 PM, Sat from 9 AM to 2 PM, closed Sundays.
Make sure to order food, medications and supplies early - the supply orders take longer to arrive during the holiday season due to busy schedules of our amazing couriers.
When you hear the words ‘canine cough’, what comes to mind? Places where large numbers of dogs come together, such as a boarding facility or day care centre?
It’s important to know that canine cough can happen any time dogs interact—during daily
walks, at the dog park, during playdates. This highly contagious respiratory disease can even spread if the contact between dogs is very brief, such as during training classes or in an elevator.
Vaccination can help protect your dog from canine cough. Schedule your dog’s visit today,
and help keep your pet safe when socializing. https://www.highway24vetclinic.com/
Fall is a great time to play outside, but don’t forget that blacklegged ticks are still active well into the autumn season.
Ask us about #TickControl medication that will keep your
pets protected.
Well today is International Dog Day - how did you and your canine pal(s) celebrate? 🐶🐶
Did you know that, like dogs, cats require preventative care, too?
Our team works hard to create a pawsitive environment for your cat's wellness visit. Not sure what to expect? We're here to lend a paw!
Check out this video to see what a preventative care visit en-"tails". 😉 #MeowMonth
It's that time of year! We are seeing fleas already on many indoor/outdoor pets that come in - are your pets on prevention? Don't forget - if you have indoor cats, but another cat or dog who has outdoor access, ALL pets in the home should be on a prescribed flea prevention program. Ask our team to customize a plan for your pets!
Check out this fun little video for some good info, and a good chuckle! :)
An important part of your pet’s check-up is receiving needed vaccinations as determined by your veterinarian. Many vaccines require regular booster doses in order to continue helping protect your pet from disease. Your pet’s vaccines may even change from one year to the next depending on whether there have been any changes to your pet’s activities or where you live.
If you have any questions or would like to schedule your pet’s wellness visit, please contact us https://www.highway24vetclinic.com/
I know, I know - we focus many times a year on the importance of microchip implants as permanent identification for pets. Sorry if it seems redundant, however, if our repeated suggestions get even one pet back home after being lost, due to a microchip being implanted based on our suggestion, we're ok with that!
Are your pets microchipped?
Is the address and contact information on your microchip registration(s) up-to-date?
Questions about microchipping, or updating information? Ask our team! Remember to get your pet scanned to check for microchip placement or migration when you are in for any visit to the clinic - we're here to help!

No matter how hard she looked, clinic supervisor Josephine couldn't find another weekend in her bed! She finally settled for the fact that it is indeed Monday. 🤣
Josephine had a dental surgery last week that involved a molar extraction - but with pain management protocols in place, as with all of our surgical patients, she has been feeling like her silly old self every day since surgery. This is why we do what we do - to keep our patients (including our very own!) happy, healthy, and comfortable!
If you have a pet that is coming in to see us for any reason, ask us about the benefits of wellness testing! There are many seasonal specials on bloodwork, stool testing, and more - regular wellness testing can help us to identify concerns early, and enact treatment plans quickly to keep your pet(s) feeling their best!
Remember, we are offering reduced-cost fecal parasite tests until the end of May, for all regular patients! (Up-to-date with wellness visits within the past 12 months). :)
Yesterday was National Puppy Day - so while we prioritized a very important message about flea and tick prevention (because those little pests were out ALL OVER yesterday!!), we want to make sure all of our amazing friends out there enjoyed some quality time with their puppies (of all ages!).
Here's your reminder to get outside and play 😍
Winter is back, so let's all ignore that for the moment (except those who live for this snowy weather - yes, husky and malamute types, this means you!), and let's daydream about what's to come in only a few months! The sun will be back!!
The best weekend plans 😍
As we approach National Pet Dental Health Month, here is an important step-by-step guide to help get your family pooch accustomed to having their teeth brushed and mouth examined!
November is Senior Pet Month - so all month long, join us as we celebrate our senior pet patients! We will discuss senior wellness nutrition, supplements and medications as well as physical therapy for aging joints and reduced mobility, the importance of proper dental care, regular grooming and nail trimming, and more! We love to swoon over our senior pets, so please feel free to leave us a photo of your mature pets! <3 #SeniorPetMonth
Dining on the front desk by light of the window. See, Josephine, the power outage isn't ALL bad!!
Just a reminder that we have no hydro (and therefore no computers, lights, phones, texts, email, or water...) until later this am. If your inquiry is not urgent, we strongly recommend waiting until Monday to call, or perhaps sending an email today (which we may not receive until Monday, but at least then it's there!). We are available for pre-booked appointments and truly urgent matters after 11 am today - but please be patient with us, we never know how much of our equipment will come back up and how much will not. 😓
(Posts are made by private cell phone, so not using the hydro grid... 😉)
