Meet one of our Fur Babies, Ram....a beautiful Border Collie Lab cross whom I adopted over a year and a half ago, just before his 6th Birthday. He was described as “special needs with allergies”. At that time, I wasn’t sure exactly what his allergies were and assumed them to be environmental. After having him for a few months, he developed severe ear infections, skin infections and mouth infections.....with a vet bill of over $1000 in less than 2 weeks. His main allergies.......food. Not all food....certain food. I had to change his food and eliminate dog treats from his diet. Not fair when the other dogs (we have 5 others as well), can have “treats” but he cannot. His allergies: Meat.....ALL poultry, pork, beef, and lamb. What he CAN eat is Salmon and vegetables. Has anyone read the ingredients on the labels of dog food and treats? Almost all of it contains some form of meat, not to mention ingredients that I cannot pronounce and ones I don’t even know what they are. Google has been my friend, but not so much for Ram. This got me thinking....and researching. Can I not make my own food and treats? Ones that are safe AND healthy for not only Ram, but the 5 others as well? And what about my horses? Can they also benefit from home-made treats? At least I will know what is actually in them. Upon talking with other pet owners, I found they were experiencing some of the same health issues. Why? I have no idea, and I don’t pretend that I do. WELCOME to Wiggle-Wags! I make home-made dog, cat AND horse treats for those that cannot eat the “conventional” prepackaged ones or for owners that would like to understand the foods they are feeding their fur babies. Back to Basics!!
I can also accommodate your pet’s needs, so if there is something special which your pet requires...or cannot have, like in Ram’s case, please send me a message and we can discuss what you are looking for! Please check back often as I am always adding to my list of treats and meal “A La Carte” that your pet will love! My hubby and I have tried them all! :-)
