Are you going through trying times? We can help with wet and dry cat food, dry dog food, cat litter and the occasional treats.

We are now located at 32929 Mission Way #24
Here Tuesday - Saturday, 11am-4pm.

All you have to do is stop in to the shelter and let us know what you need.

Meet Wanda!

Wanda came into shelter just a few short days away from giving birth. She went straight into foster care where she raised her lovely two babies.

Her kittens were adopted months ago but this snuggly, food-loving lady is still here! She’s been waiting patiently for her forever home. Her foster says she is very easy-going, quiet and the perfect TV watching buddy. We can hardly believe she hasn’t been snatched up yet.

Visit us during open hours to meet her and our other lovely adults.

Stella is going to her furever home tomorrow! This pretty lady arrived at FVHS in January this year. While it took her multiple months to show any interest in pets, we had a break through last month where her progress started improving exponentially.

Now she’s found lovely adopters who are ready to help her continue on her socialization journey and she is getting two cat siblings!! (Stella loves other cats).

Our summer students are a big part of our organization for the short time we have them and are most definitely missed when the funding runs out.

Winnie has a pending adoption!

Winnie came into shelter last November with a severe eye infection and Entropion (eye lashes curving into her eyeball). After clearing up her infection and undergoing surgery, Winnie finally has a pending adoption!

*FOUND* A young, black female kitten was found at the Mission Landfill. Her front left limb is non-functional so we brought her in for an emergency vet check. Unfortunately it’s an old injury that will have to be amputated due to nerve damage and muscle loss. She is not in pain and an amputation would majorly increase her quality of life. Cats actually do fantastic as on three legs! It’s unlikely she was ever an owned/lost cat due to the age of her injury, and unhealthy condition, however, please note we do our due diligence to find the owners of any stray animal as required by the BC Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. This does not mean an animal is returned if there is negligence involved. Proof of ownership is required.

Magic has been with us for 278 days and it's been a pleasure to watch him gain the confidence to accept love. If you're interested in this sweet boy, come visit during our open hours (Tues-Sat 11-4). #adoptablecats #catrescue #catshelter #missionbc #catlover #adoptdontshop

Hello everyone. We need your help! We have two siblings, Freya and Tracy who both have a severe leg malformation. It hinders their ability to move, jump and all around live a happy life. Our veterinarian has recommended a leg amputation to improve their quality of life. Did you know cats actually do very well on three legs?? These are BIG surgeries and are going to cost $3000 total. Please help us give these two sweeties the best life possible! We have posted a video below so you can see how much these surgeries are needed. You can see Tracy leg (which he is unable to bend or move) majorly affects his mobility. We have posted some more photos in the comments of these two cuties <3 Anything donated will go straight to their surgeries! Please help if you can!

Meet Duke & Daisy! Duke is a large 1-2 year old male, he was surrendered to us with his tiny 3-4 year old mother Daisy. They are cuddly, playful, and friendly to other cats and dogs. They are a bonded pair, and looking for a home able to adopt them together. Pairs are twice the fun and four times the love, and we know there is someone out there looking for a couple rays of sunshine to brighten up their life. If you would like to visit Duke & Daisy for playtime and cuddles, or potentially apply to welcome them into your heart and home, give us a call during our open hours and we can book you in for an appointment.

Our Story

FVHS is a non profit charity in Mission, BC., founded in 1999. We are a feline only facility, and are independent from all other Humane Societies. Together with our valued Volunteers and knowledgable, local Veterinary support, we rehabilitate, house, feed, medicate and socialize all the cats in our care.

All of our cats and kittens receive Veterinary exams, series of deworming and flea treatments, are spayed/neutered, receive permanent identification (tattoo or microchip), are Viral tested (FeLV & FIV -), vaccinated, fed a high quality specific diet to their individual needs, socialized and receive TLC prior to becoming available for adoption.

Our Kitty Keepers are knowledgeable, friendly and passionate about what we do. Every feline has a different journey and to us, every adoption is a celebration!

All of our Adoptors receive a Personalized Folder with detailed information on your new family members history, including all veterinary care and treatments received. We have also carefully selected informative information on Feline Care, including such information as How to Integrate with other Family Members, Night time Trouble Makers, Toxic Plants, Signs of Illnesses, Benefits of Pet Insurance, how to receive your PetSmart $450 value booklet, and effective product information such as Feliway, flea control.
