UPDATE: Someone has suggested the black dog could be a Karelian Bear Dog, I agree it’s possible. They’re not common dogs at all.
We could use your help! Do you recognise this man and his two akita type, or possibly even shepherd/husky mixes? He has a very thick accent.
Ellie and her pack were attacked by two off leash and out of control dogs around 10.30am on Friday 3 May in the Dumont Rd area. This has resulted in three dogs with multiple punctures and vet bills totalling over $2,000 so far. Ellie has also suffered extensive bruising, ripped clothing and psychological distress due to the incident.
When the owner refused to provide their contact information, Ellie thankfully was able to start filming and capture this video. If you listen you can hear him say ‘I wasn’t there, so I won’t take your word for it’ as she was detailing what happened.
After speaking with Animal Control, they have recommended we post the video to see if we can track him down.
I understand this is emotional for everyone involved, and for many others as well. However, I do ask that you please refrain from negative or abusive comments on this thread. We simply want to track him down and help prevent this from happening to anyone else in the future.
Words of support for Ellie and the injured pack members are welcomed 💜
Iggy got the zoomies after his final Board & Train training session, tidying up his offleash skills. You rocked it Iggles, I'm super proud!! 🤩

Thursday evening’s SUP with your PUP class!!
We had sweet Peggy who loved the groundwork, and was a little more cautious on water. Then Riley, who took some time to warm up to the strange humans, but hopped straight on the floating board like it was no big deal.
Working from the ground to the pool, we teach you the skills you need to get your dog out on the water with you - hopefully without you both ending up in it!
Is this something you would like to see more of?
In case you missed it on Instagram, here is our video of Rupert’s care today!
TW: Small wound and small amount of blood
Sydney and I set out together again today to get some filming done. While setting up for our group photo we quickly noticed Rupert had come out of the water holding a leg in the air!
The poor guy wasn’t too happy, and we found a good cut on the back of his leg. Follow along as we get him cleaned up, but be warned - you will catch a glimpse of the cut, although I left the most detailed clips out.
I am Dogsafe Certified and this small incident comes the day before Sydney & Ellie sit their certification with @dogsdigitbc in Duncan.
Dogs get up to all sorts of mischief, and it’s important to have the skills to deal with injuries on the trail!
Ever wondered where your dog sleeps when they visit our place?!
The dog cabin has been insulated since we built it, but this weekend we finally got around to finishing the interior walls and building the permanent shelf for the crates.
During summer, we have an A/C unit pumping and over winter the cabin is heated. It is digitally temperature monitored, sending notifications directly to my phone. I was even able to keep any eye on it while in the US!
The cabin is located in our large, fully fenced dog yard, within 30m of the main house.
The beastly cat eater has tackled another (unplanned) challenge this evening! If it was planned, I absolutely would have had a leash on him for safety.
Skid hopped the gate this evening, something he usually only does when he feels safe. Zepp received ONE well timed correction for a rise in his arousal around the cat.
Would that have worked in the beginning? Absolutely not. We had plenty of lunging on leash when he first arrived, and even a charge at the sliding door.
However, we have been addressing his general over-arousal at everything in life and adding in a ton of structure to his day; creating the concept that calm gets him what he wants.
Is this process finished yet? No. I do not yet consider Zepp cat safe, however we are well on the way to being able to coexist with a stable cat! Well done little buddy.
What happens when we find a bone on our hikes? Not much!
Check out how calmly this whole non-event went on Friday
REMINDER:
We are closed for Easter from Friday 7 - Monday 10 April. While I'm hoping for some extra sleep, my bunnies are hoping for some one-on-one hiking with their Ma!
Enjoy the long weekend, and we will see you next week 🐰
Yukon reeeeaaally liked this bush today 🤣 not sure if he is enjoying the scritch... or collecting ticks to take home to Ma 🪳
