OUR GOAL: Elevate the Status of Cats

Through the Just for Cats Internet Cat Video Festival, we will increase the level of cat care across the country and enhance the human-cat bond that so many of us share. Improving cat welfare is a major priority for the CFHS and its members. We love them on the internet but in real life cats need our help. Shelters across Canada are bursting - cats are twice a

s likely to be surrendered and/or euthanized than dogs. Cats are less likely to receive veterinary care, to have permanent identification, to be reunited with their owner, or to be adopted to a new family if lost or abandoned. There is no single stakeholder or group responsible for the problem or finding the solution– it is truly a community problem that requires a community effort to resolve. CFHS works to end animal cruelty, improve animal protection and promote the humane treatment of all animals. CFHS represents humane societies, SPCAs and like-minded organizations.
