Picture the job that a Veterinary Assistant does in an animal hospital. Do you have an idea of the work and responsibility of a VA? Purrfect. Now multiply it by ten! Veterinary Assistants are the unsung heroes of our industry. They are an instrumental part of our team and the care they contribute greatly impacts the health of our patients. What you see a VA do when you visit our clinic only scratches the surface of everything their role entails. They are multi-tasking masters who maintain grace under pressure. They are the smile that greets you when you introduce them to your new kitten. They are the strong shoulder of support you need when you say goodbye to your senior cat. It can be a demanding job. But they find it rewarding because their love for animals- especially cats- is just as big as the job itself. We are celebrating Veterinary Assistant Appreciation Week! Thank you for everything that you do. Help us celebrate by showing your appreciation for our VA team in the comments.

Do cats get dental problems? Absolutely! Their dental problems are surprisingly similar to ours. From the age of 4 years, at least 50% of cats have some form of dental disease. But cats are good at hiding signs of pain, so they can have significant problems before you see signs of trouble. In fact, cats will continue to eat even when their mouth hurts. That's why your vet always looks at your cat's mouth and teeth during an examination.
