Me ‘n Supe in our lesson with Moira De Ste. Croix at Stevens Creek Farm this week. Is he not dreamy? 😋
Busy in the best way: the weekend was spent watching our young Super Dandy play in the Hunter ring at Westar, then judging dressage at the Oakhurst Eventing Derby. Have a great week 💕
Tonight’s pic thanks to Cheryl. ‘If you don’t like the weather, just wait five minutes.’ 😉💕🌦️
Today is Elijah’s second birthday. We call him Jelly 🥰 He stands just over 15.2hh now, still growing. He stands well to be tied and does a little ground work. Gentle, sensitive and intelligent, he loves his Uncle Ehren, levitating and eating his carrots sideways 😁 Bred by Little River Hanoverians Have a great weekend 💕
Work It Out Wednesdays: Cheryl and her darling Rosco Amigo 💕🦄🍎
Horse Girl Friday: Fabulous lessons with Coach Ron King Blueprint Farm for Ehren Goodboy & me, and for Cheryl & her dear Rosco Amigo. Have a great weekend 🌞
Our young Super Dandy demonstrates a little anti-gravity on the weekend, and gravity this morning ❤️
2024’s first rides in the sand ring. Reason enough for carrots in the crossties 🥕🌞🥕
Terrific day together with Coach Ron King Blueprint Farm thanks to Hilary at Winterfell Stables
Blessed are the unicorns who remain unbothered while the snow falls off the arena roof. Have a great weekend 🥰
Haley & her mare out enhancing the scenery 💕
As per page title. 💕
I learned Stride Control directly from Jen Marsden Hamilton, Equestrian Coach when I started riding in her clinics thirty years ago. Stride Control gave me the skills to be successful in challenging situations, such as the Equestrian Canada Certified Competition Coach Evaluation, and then the Exam in 2008. This book is very valuable because a wealth of experience is condensed into a gradual, easy to follow format. These exercises are like the spine of the body of work required to educate a horse & rider.
My book is well worn! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

November 2019 and 2023. The blink of an eye with Super Dandy! ❤️
I personally don’t find it easy to knit the show judging experience into social media. Regardless, here’s a try: Last Sunday at the beautiful Oakhurst Horse Trials, the Canada geese reminded me that despite the excitement of coming together to compete on the day, we’re all on a different flight plan, and we all have to head back home at some point.💕
Summer Horse Care: It’s like making pasta. Have a great weekend 💕
Super Dandy reminds us that spending some time riding on the inside track is a great way to check that you’re using 2 legs and 2 reins. Thank you Supe! 😁💕
Two minutes of a ‘Field Day’ here at home with wonderful Super Dandy. If you train on different surfaces, ride over terrain and put lots of long straight lines on your horse, then you’ll make a stronger athlete than with ring work alone. At the end, Supe takes us straight to the trees to cool off in the shade and brush off any bugs😁. What a great date! 🤗
Today’s Special: Two logs/poles/cavaletti set about 60’ apart can seem like the ‘Plain White Toast’ of Stride Control (it’s Exercise 1, Page 44 of Jen Hamilton’s book). In fact, you can learn a lot about the quality of turns, straightness and communication. Our young Super Dandy demonstrates the standard five 12’ strides, a compressed six 10’ strides, and then Ehren Goodboy makes a big effort for seven.
Look for results you can measure, and have a great weekend! 🥕💕🥕
Sunny day in the sand ring with my darling Super Dandy 💕Have a great weekend
While we enjoyed a sunny holiday, Ehren & Super Dandy seemed to save up every one of their spent winter fibres so that I could also enjoy grooming them upon my return. So thoughtful! 🌞💕🧹
Some may say “How many karats?” 💍 But around here, it’s more like “How many 🥕🥕🥕?” 😊
Today’s Special: Groundwork can be sound work! Short sessions in long side-reins for Ehren & Supe while the sun warmed the arena 🌞

Good morning! Should you decide to do Something Very Nice for your horse like hand-grazing for 15 minutes or so while the pastures grow in, try not to leave anyone out 😉Have a great weekend 💕
It’s time to introduce Super Dandy to working in the indoor arena❄️Right now the space gives him a very ‘Lights! Camera! Action!’ vibe, but he just gets better every time 💕🦄🥕
On Tuesday, during some conditioning laps in the grass paddock, Supe said “I heard it was dragon-riding season!” 🐲 And I said “Not today.” 😁 Hold onto what makes you happy, and if it tries to buck you off, hold on tighter! ❤️ (Supe is 99.99% a Very Good Boy, and this is a brief moment of normal exuberance in a young horse 😊)
