*❤️😻🥰 ADOPTED‼️🎉🎊*
Thank you everyone 🫵🏻 for sharing her story🙌🏻*

Meet Billie! Billie is in desperate need of a quiet loving home. She is so very sweet and around 6 years old, and is spayed and vaxxed. She now finds herself basically homeless (although she is in a temporary foster home on TORONTO Coxwell and Dundas area), through no fault of her own. She was doted on by her previous mom (Margaret), who unfortunately passed away from cancer. Her dying wish was that Billie have a good home for the rest of Billie’s life. Margaret’s family told her not to worry, that they’d find a home for her. But after Margaret passed away, her family did not want her and said to EUTHANIZE HER!! Of course we can’t let that happen. Billie and Margaret were best friends ever since Margaret adopted her from THS when Billie was about 18 months old. They were together for approximately 3-4 years and were inseparable.

An old client and friend found a temporary foster placement for Billie (since Margaret’s family wanted her euthanized) but it’s not ideal because it’s a basement apartment with only one very small window. Billie was very sad at losing her world – Margaret and her home – but has come a long way.

Now we feel she’s ready for – and deserves – a permanent home. The last year of Margaret's life was tough on Billie, with all kinds of caregivers coming in and out, and surely she knew something was going on.

Margaret called her Billie because she loves to climb just like a billy goat. When my old clients and friend told me about Billie’s situation, she asked if I could post Billie in hopes that she would find the kind of loving home that Billie deserves. She had a recent general check up and all is great.

Would you please consider adopting this sweet little girl? For more information and if you’re interested in adopting this lovely girl, PLEASE contact Lynn Wintercorn through Messenger. Lynn would have taken her in herself but she already has 4 cats. We’re not sure how she is around other cats (although she’d probably do fine with a companion cat if the introduction is slow) or kids, but might be too shy (given what she’s been through, with Margaret’s caregivers coming in and out constantly the last year she was alive) to be around younger kids.

So yesterday was a busy day for the hard working Cottage Paws volunteers getting these dear cats pulled from the kill shelter in Quebec, a shelter that I saved so many from when I owned my hospital. The new Bay Cats was even going to help one as a start to rescuing after a long hiatus 😻! I can say that dealing with this rescue's volunteers is amazing. They do SO very much every single day out of their love for animals. If anyone out there is looking for a cat ( or dog) I suggest that you fill out an application in advance. In this way, if you see a desperate cat that you fancy, your application has already been pre approved and the kitty's rescue and transport from Quebec can be arranged quickly.

***REMEMBERING THE CATS***
Thousands of cats were dispatched to the trenches during WW1 to keep rodent numbers down and act as early warning detectors for mustard gas. So many gave great comfort to the troops as companions and mascots. How many cats survived we will never know?
Paws At The Ready -

The cats of World War One had significant role in all the campaigns, we must honour their bravery too.
Give thought to all the kitties
who served in World War One.
A battalion of the finest
who never fired a gun.

What was their role?

Whether hunting rodents out at sea,
or loyal friends to men,
these many cats had vital roles,
time and time again.
The food was saved.

A common sight in trenches deep,
dispatching mice and rats,
the soldiers’ had a special bond
with many of these cats.
Many were treasured mascots.

Five hundred thousand cats were sent
to serve in the Great War.
Some detected mustard gas,
whilst others were off shore.

Some of the feline heroes -

Togo was the Dreadnought’s cat,
The Swan had their lad Ching.
Pincher was the Vinex’s mog,
it was luck they hoped they’d bring.
‘Martinpuich’ was aptly named,
by The 9th battalion chaps.
Pitouchi was the orphaned kit,
who’d survived on army scraps.

Spark Plug, Tabby and many more
were companions to the troops.
The feline unsung heroes,
those cats who became recruits.

We’ll never truly realise
just what these cats went through.
So spare a thought and give some thanks
for what they did for you!

Sleep in a bed with a cat? The health effects are staggering...

Cats can sense when you need help.

If they wander all the way to your bed, or if they're always taking up room on the couch, know that they're just relieving you of negative energy. They have a special ability to detect magnetic fields, which is why it is recommended to put the bed where the cat spends more time and feels comfortable.

The cat is able to compensate for the physical and mental energy deficits of its owner. Research has shown that families with cats have a much lower incidence of disease, a more balanced atmosphere in the house and a more harmonious living environment.

Cats can sense when you are in pain.

Don't be surprised if your cat settles down exactly where it hurts. If your stomach hurts, your head hurts or your neck is tense, your favorite animal will most certainly linger on this area. Don't chase it away, be patient and let it flood you with healing energy. After a while the pain will decrease and you will feel much better.

Cats are excellent masters of bioenergetics, they can sense exactly when there is a problem somewhere, and therefore they try to balance the energies in a short time. They can sense the human aura, are amazing neurologists, psychologists, but are also excellent at "curing" physical illnesses. They alleviate anxiety, depressive symptoms and bring calm to the whole house and its owner.

Cardiovascular "doctors"

Cats are excellent cardiologists. People with hypertension can therefore consider sharing their life with a small, soft purr on all fours. People who have cats are much calmer, more balanced and their blood pressure problems are reduced. American research shows that the risk of heart attack is reduced by 30 to 40% in cat owners. Cats often sit on people's chests because they sense a problem and are quick to use their healing skills. This is how they prevent heart attacks.

Female cats have much stronger bioenergetics than male cats, and are more effective at reducing symptoms of mental and internal disorders.

Male cats are better at treating skeletal and exoskeletal disorders.

Meet Dimple McDumpling, the sweetest, most innocent kitten. He teaches me every day that if life gives you lemons 🍋 .... make lemonade.
He is a special needs kitten in that he has a neurologic deficit thay affects his vision and hearing assimilation. He is also a little gimpy with his front left paw. But he does not know ANY of these things. He runs, he plays, he purrs, he cuddles, he explores.
His owner was arrested🙀and gone away for a long time. The authorities took him to the shelter. The shelter staff were told to euthanize him. The staff called me instead. 😻🥰 So now he is neutered, viral tested, vaccinated and living the life at chez Gaby. He is ready to go to a quiet loving person who has some extra time to cuddle and play with him. He does not meow but rather chirps when he senses my other cat's presence ( who are quite snobby girls that dont even like each other 😳 so it doesn't go over well and i feel sad for him). He's simply adorable.
He uses clumping litter like a champ. He doesnt seem to drink much on his own so I mix his water intake into his canned food and kibble food!
