Field checks done and a few holes filled in under close supervision from Fudge and Olive.
If your dog is a digger please could you keep an eye on them and stop them. If they do manage to dig a hole could you let us know so we can fill it in to prevent a dog or person hurting themselves.
We are planning to put in some more enrichment when we do the drainage work including sand for digging.

ADVANCE NOTICE OF TEMPORARY CLOSURE :
We will be closing the field between Monday 23rd September and Thursday 26 th September for the completion of drainage ahead of the winter. We will also be putting up a field shelter following lots of feedback from yourselves.
We apologise for any inconvenience this will cause and hope you can bear with us while we get this important work done before the wetter weather really sets in so that you and your dogs can continue to enjoy the field over the winter.

Trailing is one of the most inclusive activities you can do with your dog and any dog of any age can do it. It’s fun working as a team with your dog to find ‘lost’ people and dogs and harnesses your dogs natural superpower - their sense of smell.
Session last around 2 hours and are for a maximum of 4 dogs. Dogs are trailed individually so it is suitable for more sensitive dogs. When you aren’t trailing with your dog you will take turns hiding for other dogs or staying with the cars.

Delighted to have been able to support this event. It was wonderful to see so many happy and healthy dogs that have been given new lives. It was also lovely to meet the people behind the scenes that founded Street Hearts BG. We have always had rescue dogs and over the years they have enriched our lives no end so this is something that is close to our heart.

Looking for a new fun activity for you and your dog - why not give Trailing a go. Join like minded people learning how to look for lost people with your dog. Sessions are suitable for complete beginners or for people who have trailed before.
Trailing is one of the most inclusive activities you can do with your dog and any dog of any age can do it. It’s fun working as a team to find ‘lost’ people and dogs and harnesses your dogs natural superpower - their sense of smell.
Sessions are for 4 dogs and their owners and usually last around 2 hours. Each dog will trail individually so nervous , reactive or excitable dogs are welcome. When it’s their turn to trail each dog will be given a scent article to sniff and will then follow a trail that has been laid to find their hidden person. In between their turns dogs will rest in cars and we can hide you for other dogs to find. Someone is always with the cars keeping an eye on them.

New bench looking up the field - seal of approval given by these 3.
We have had feedback from a few people that a bench nearer to the car park would be useful for people who can’t walk too far or for when you need to give your dogs a quicker run. We thought this was a great idea so have put an additional bench near the pedestrian gate.
It is also useful for sitting waiting for your dog to come back from chasing the swallows as we found out today waiting for Olive. 🐾🐦⬛
Did anyone lose spider man in the Hounds Haven field, we have him safe, just let us know and we will return.

Fantastic evening trail in Poynton with the teams trying out road crossings and working their way through the maze of alleys and car parks behind the shops. No rain but a bit of a breeze to move the scent around to challenge the dogs noses. Team Bugg is really coming into his own now and made finding his lost person and dog look easy despite some twists and turns in the trail - and of course doing his happy dance when he found them. Great team work and handling. Team Buddy got to work looking for his lost person and dog in true busy spaniel style taking the distractions of the high street in his stride. This team is growing in strength every time they trail so can’t wait to see them progress further. Team Rick is new to trailing but his confidence grew over the session as he got the game. Looking forward to seeing this team grow and build on his success in finding his lost people. Trailing is one of the most inclusive activities you can do with your dog and sessions are suitable for all including beginners. Sessions available in East Cheshire, Greater Manchester and Derbyshire.
