20 weeks old and my puppy piranha has become a bit gummy in the last 2 days.
The desire to chew and gnaw has increased.
Exchange your hands and fingers for something your puppy can safely enjoy and soothe her mouth with.
Glitch has a soft squeeky toy she can fully chew on , a bone for a harder surface, pigs ears and holee roller balls.
As I type she has decided to unstuff her bed 🙈
She is a puppy. Its what they do 😄

Also, if you are using tug toys at this stage for agility pups.A heads up.
Whilst tugging with a previous puppy her love for that game was impacted due to loosing puppy teeth.
She associated the tuggy for the unexpected sensation and it took patience to rebuild her confidence to play tuggy.

Understanding of dogs who need space, also known as “yellow dogs”. These are dogs that may be nervous, in training, recovering from an injury or illness, being rehabilitated or simply dogs that prefer to keep their distance from people and other dogs.
Look out for 💛💛💛 leads, collars and dog jackets.

As you can see. It is hard work having a puppy, training your agility dogs and supporting pawrents with their doggos.

Building Brave opportunities are around you and your puppy every day.
Some dogs are pretty scared of these WW2 soldiers.
Glitch had a healthy reaction which she was rewarded for.
Ember was helping too 😉

Every experience your puppy has is an opportunity to "Build Brave". New environments, traffic, different surfaces to walk on.
I will be running some Build Brave workshops soon.
You can also join me for Puppy Classes. Thursdays start tomorrow evening.

One of the things we will focus on during puppy class is walking on lead.
Puppies are not born knowing what to do.
It takes patience to get them to walk with you and lots of treats.
So:-
Do practice at home , in a safe environment
Do expect your puppy to bounce and munch lead
Do stay calm. Reset. Try again.
Do train when your puppy is hungry.
Do have patience.
Then....
Take them into a new environment.
If it's too much - go back a step.
Create opportunities for success.

At this stage you are NOT walking your puppy.
You are training how to walk on a lead.

Expecting Puppy to know what to do will create pulling and frustration for you.

Small steps with lead. Create success.

So start with growing Puppy's love of the lead.

Toady i was out with my puppy glitch , we are working on walking on lead and exploring the world ! She was very brave ❤️
