‼️ 2025 Diary Update ‼️

Just a quick update to let everyone know there will be some changes to appointment availability for 2025!

After much thought, and for many reasons, I have decided to reduce the salons opening days to Monday-Thursday.

Due to the reduction of a day, I strongly advise that you book your appointment through the year if at all possible to avoid disappointment!

I will shortly be messaging everyone to advise of these changes and to get 2025 bookings in.

To some this is just a picture of a load of shampoos and sprays, to me this is a big step in expanding my little business!!

It started as a dream the one day I’d love to have my own range of shampoos and with some pushes of encouragement from friends and family and months of organising it’s now a reality!!

will officially be launching 26th August but if you’d like to get your hands on some before then, a small amount will be available at nest fest fun dog show on Saturday

‼️ Diary & Pricing Update ‼️

Currently the diary is extremely busy and the soonest availability is in 8 weeks towards the end of September. Please make sure you are booking your appointments well in advance if they are not already booked through the year or done at the end of your previous one.

‼️ As of the 1st September there will be a £5 price increase across all services (I will also be messaging all current clients directly to inform them of this)

I know a price increase is never what anyone wants and this decision has not been made lightly but since opening my salon I have tried to keep my prices as low as possible and have avoiding doing any increase.

Unfortunately, for me to be able to continue to provide the best possible service and maintain products of a high quality this must be done.

Introducing the newest member to our families pack…mum’s new baby, Vera

I’ll be doing updates as her coat changes from puppy to adult and how I set her up for success to enjoy her hand stripping sessions when she’s bigger

Today was her first experience at the salon, with a bath, dry, brush and nail trim…I often get asked when should o start grooming/bathing my puppy at home? And the honest answer is, it’s never too early! Not only will it keep your dog’s skin and coat in the best condition and mat free while helping them get used to it before visiting the salon…it is a truly amazing bond experience for both you and your new pup

When I first started my dog grooming journey, it was a dream to specialise in wire haired hand stripping…

Thanks to all the lovely wire haired dogs I get to groom that dream has quickly become a reality!

Lady Tweed was another hand strip I got to do this week, and I do love grooming this girl!

Watson came in for his first strip, working on removing the puppy coat to encourage a strong health adult coat to come through

Hand stripping will always be my favourite thing about dog grooming!

When hand stripping a wire coat, you target remove the older, dull coat…promoting health growth of a fuller, shiner coat with more vibrate colour!!

Contrary to poplar belief, when done properly, hand stripping DOES NOT cause pain to the dog!

Let’s encourage those natural coats to flourish

Just to give a quick diary update that currently there are no appointments available for 6 weeks, week commencing 10th July is the earliest availability.

Currently there is limited availability throughout June, so please try and plan ahead! Book in your appointments as early as possible to avoid disappointment!!

Where possible, I have been trying to encourage many of you to book through the year! Especially if your dog is in on a regular 6-8 week grooming schedule.

Understanding Your Doodles Coat!

You may have seen recently on news/social media that unfortunately a number have dogs have been injured while visiting another local salon!

As dog groomers we take the care of your dog VERY seriously and have a huge responsibility while looking after them and grooming.

Occasionally accidents may happen due to the nature of working with sharpe tools around dogs…HOWEVER it is our duty to minimise this risk!

But as owners there are things you can do to help avoid this…including asking the right questions when finding the groomer who works for both you and your dog!

Many people are not aware that the dog grooming industry is not currently regulated, you 𝐃𝐎 𝐍𝐎𝐓 have to have a 𝘲𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 or 𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 to start grooming dog!?

You might think, well what difference does a qualification make? By completing an accredited qualification, that groomer has taken the time to learn, not just new grooming skill and techniques BUT also how to correctly handle dogs and ensure their safety to the best of their ability! ⁣⁣

𝘉𝘦 𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘴𝘬 𝘲𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘳𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘤𝘩 𝘪𝘯 𝘢 𝘨𝘳𝘰𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘳 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘥𝘰𝘨 🐾⁣

Don’t be afraid to ask potential groomers any questions, they will be happy to help and reassure you of their credentials:

1. Do they have a qualification? If so what standard are they qualified to (yes they are different levels and also different qualification providers)

2. Do they have insurance? If an accident does occur, you and your groomer can work together with vets and insurance providers to help with the potentially unplanned vets bill.

We should also take the time to mention it is so key as an owner to make sure your dogs are used to being handled to reduce the risk of unnecessary injuries!

Good morning everyone,

I am currently in the process of creating a computerised system which will automatically send out appointment confirmations and reminders.

As mentioned last year, I am now having to introducing a non-refundable booking deposit of £10, which will be deducted from the final payment. This will be done through a payment link that will be sent out to you, no appointments are confirmed until the deposit has been received.

I will also be sending out new Terms & Conditions to everyone to reflect the introduction of the deposit system. So if you could all please ensure I have an updated email address.

I will also be reaching out to everyone over the next week to ensure all information I currently have is up to date.

With the cold weather warning coming in for next week I thought it would be interesting to share how this cold can affect our dogs just as much a hot weather!

It is always important to keep an eye on our dogs as individuals and adapt their routines as needed!
