INDEPENDENT VETERINARY PRACTICE

PETS AND SMALL ANIMALS

We’re proud of our reputation as a friendly & caring veterinary practice..... we hold three clinics every week day, and one on Saturdays, so it’s always easy to book in whether your requirement is urgent or simply routine. Like yourselves, we are all animal lovers and pet owners and our goal is to do our very best to help your pet lead a lon

g, healthy and active life. We want you to feel confident in our staff and their knowledge whilst treating your pets

FARM AND LARGE ANIMAL SERVICES

Our Farm & Large Animal service supports many dairy producers as well as beef and sheep farmers. We are “on-farm” on a daily basis providing herd health planning advice, routine fertility visits and diagnostic problem-solving
At the practice, we have facilities to hospitalise and treat calves and sheep, as well as performing operations such as caesareans and hernia corrections. We offer all our large animal clients a dedicated out of hours emergency service that allows them access to all our services, either on farm or at the practice. We work closely with several outside agencies (such as the AHVLA and SAC) to allow us to provide the most up-to-date advice available at any given time

EQUINE SERVICES

Our First Opinion Equine Vets provide local horse owners with a comprehensive range of services and advice. We offer a 24 hour emergency service and work closely with local equine specialists enabling us to offer a premium class service which is personal and caring

✨AUGUST PETS OF THE MONTH ✨

Ernie and Digby’s family had a very eventful week when both dogs became unwell in the space of 24 hours.

Poor Ernie ate something he shouldn’t have which got lodged in his intestines making him very sick! Fortunately, vet Lucy was able to operate quickly to remove the foreign object and Ernie made a good recovery. Any guesses as to what Ernie ate?

Whilst Ernie was in surgery Digby decided to one up his brother by becoming suddenly wobbly and unable to walk on his back legs. He required urgent investigation and thankfully with ongoing medication he is recovering well.

🐾KITTENS FOR ADOPTION🐾
We are looking for a wonderful new home for this pair of stray kittens we have been hand rearing for the past few weeks at the practice.

We estimate the kittens to be around 5-6 weeks old and will have to be rehomed together. They are extremely affectionate and friendly.

The black kitten is male and the b+w kitten is female.

Please contact the practice for more information.

✨Pet of the Month July✨

The lovely Paddy has been coming in to see us every month for the past couple of years to receive her injections for arthritis. Recently she has spent more time with us than usual, due to a large sore on her elbow that required regular bandage changes.

No matter the reason for her visit she is always super happy to see us! We are so glad to see that her elbow has healed well and she back to her happy self.

🏡HOME NEEDED🏡
This adorable little kitten was brought into the practice by a member of the public. After medical treatment and much needed TLC she is ready to find a home. Please contact the practice if you would like to rehome her.

We estimate her to be about 5 weeks old so will require extra care over the next few weeks.

✨PET OF THE MONTH✨

The pet of the month from April was little Lilly!

A very poorly Lilly came into us soon after her new owners had brought her home. After some diagnostic tests it was revealed she had a large worm burden causing her to be very sick and lethargic.

Fortunately, due to the swift action of her owners, she made a full recovery after some medications and lots of TLC from everyone at the practice. ❤️❤️

⚠️All puppies are susceptible to worms, some of which can be passed over from the mother. This is why it’s very important to correctly worm mother and pups. Please contact the practice for more information ⚠️

✨ PET OF THE MONTH ✨

Our pet of the month for February is Medi 🐶

Medi sadly had to have her leg amputated after an accident on farm. She also damaged her back foot but fortunately this is healing with frequent bandage changes and medication. Despite her injuries she has been so sweet and trusting during her treatments and overnight stays. Well done Medi 🌟
Fingers crossed she’s all healed soon 🤞
