Just a reminder to all dog owners to keep your dog on a lead around livestock, sheep are particularly vulnerable at this time of year, ewes are heavily pregnant or have lambs at foot, even if you think that your quiet, gentle dog would never chase sheep it's not worth the risk. Even if your dog just wants to play sheep can die from just being chased and remember that farmers have legal right to shoot dogs found worrying livestock and you could be subject to a large fine. So please enjoy your dog walks in the countryside, PLEASE PLEASE keep dogs on leads near livestock and keep everyone safe
