This is super exciting news and something we are pleased to have on our doorstep. A CT and the skill of the Nurses and clinicians that will offer this service at Bell will be invaluable to many of us. Exciting times ahead.

Busy busy start to the year, but made easier when you have impeccably behaved ponies in like little “Betty” here. Standing very still on the blocks, unsedated, for her radiographs.

We find a lot of the horses and ponies we have in the clinic are calm and happy to stand for procedures. Maybe due to our peaceful surroundings or just that we bribe with lots of treats.

We hope your all keeping warm and enjoying some sunshine and dry albeit cold weather.🥶☀️☺️

What a lovely review ☺️
“You trust your vet and those who care for your animals. But when you’ve had work up’s from two different vets over a few years and been told to ‘crack on’, nothing is wrong with him. You start to think you are going mad! Let alone the opinions from non-qualified equine people. I went to David with a selection of smaller issues, which all together where a big issue. He listened first of all, and took note of the all the small details. He built a picture and carefully ruled out potential diagnoses one by one. I now have a diagnosis and a treatment plan. If I had carried on with ‘cracking on’, doing more ‘hill work/pole work’, I would have created more damage! We have a chance of giving my horse a better life now. I can’t thank David for his caring manor and ability to really listen to everything I was describing. Ruth was wonderful also, getting back to me quickly and listening to my woes on the phone. I was never judged and only ever listen to. Thank you both! Rebecca ”

🧾Housekeeping Notice🧾

We would like to remind all our valued clients that accounts need to be settled on the day of receiving the invoice please.

We understand that times are hard and for that reason since opening we have not increased our already competitively low prices for products or services and this will stay that way until the April 2024 review.

This said we do rely on accounts being settled promptly and in full. Insurance claims are accepted and we do not charge for processing them, but again the insurance companys pay out to clients within days whereas some take weeks, even months to settle with us so we appreciate that bills are settled by you with us and monies claimed form insurance companies directly.

Being a small business we do not have the time to chase unsettled payments and going forward an admin fee may have to be added to accounts that require extra time.

We do have the facilities to accept credit cards for quick payment and to ease the strain on clients budgets.

Thank you to all our clients that do settle promptly and the continued support we have from everyone going forward.

Ruth, David and Lizzie.
Sounder Equine.

Ever feel like you’re a just constantly chasing your tail?? Yeah me too! 😬

Currently as busy as ever at the moment with regular and new clients, courses, my animals and trying to make a bit of time for myself (what’s that?!)

I have had a wild Saturday evening playing a huge amount of catch up with admin…I *think* I’ve got back to everyone, and my diary is looking pretty set for the coming month but I do have a bit of availability which I will post below. If you’re waiting for an appointment please give me a nudge, things can easily get missed and I can only apologise! Please drop me a message if you would like an appointment!

Current availability for October -

🐴Friday 6th (Ashford/Charing)
🐴Monday 9th (Dover/deal)
🐴Wednesday 11th (Sittingbourne)
🐴Wednesday 25th (Canterbury)

Whilst doing admin - just some house keeping - I’ve also made note of the fact I’m currently owed in excess of £700 🤦🏼‍♀️ I really can’t afford to keep having this happen each month. I really can’t stress enough that you pay your invoice on time…my dressage instructor takes payment on booking and as much as I don’t want to have to do that I think before long it is going to be my only option as it is very stressful to try and keep track! 😖

🎉🥂🍾 And just like that …… it’s Year No.2 completed for Sounder Equine and what a busy one it’s been. So busy we very nearly missed marking the occasion.

So here’s to our clients and owners 😉. Thank you for putting your trust in us to look after you horses, ponies, donkeys and unicorns🐴🦄. Thank you for being patient with the admin, reports and late evening telephone calls.

And here’s to the years to come 🥂🍾🥂🎉

We have seen a large number of cases of laminitis recently. Here’s a really useful guide to help if you are worried about your horse/pony. Call your vet out at the earliest signs, as the sooner you get a diagnosis the better your chances of solving it.

⚠️ LAMINITIS WARNING ⚠️

🌦️ The continued rainfall and warm conditions promote the ideal environment for grass growth 🌱

🐎 Laminitis can cause extreme pain, lameness and permanent damage to the hooves. Being aware of the more subtle signs of laminitis can help you act faster, resulting in more efficient diagnosis and treatment.

👀 Be extra vigilant with horses and ponies with metabolic conditions and those who are overweight, as this puts them at a greater risk of laminitis.

🔎 Just because a horse hasn’t had laminitis before doesn’t mean they can’t get it.

Such a lovely review from a client of ours. Thank you for your kind words and for “VIP horse transport” for bringing in Bell.

" I met David and his Team in June and would like to thank you incredibly for your work and professionalism. Without a doubt, he is one of the best vets I have met in Poland and the UK. A sure and definite diagnosis, the most necessary examinations, a very good eye and a great patience with the patient and his owner and a lot of treats for the horse 🙂. Bell was so happy! Thank you very much! I wish there were only vets like you in the world. "

And that’s the end of another busy week at Sounder Equine. The flowers are blooming, treats re stocked and time to chill over the weekend ready for next week.

As some of you know, We are allowing David and Lizzie a little holiday time with the family mid July. The phone will still be covered and we’ll do our best to answer any questions during this time.

Thank you to everyone who has been patient with us during this extremely busy period, if we still owe you a phone call, report or images then please do give us a gentle nudge.

Have a good weekend and enjoy the weather ☀️

To all Clients past and present.

We would like to thank you all for choosing us to help your four legged friends.

We are currently working at a 6 week wait for lameness work up appointments. We are working extra to try and reduce the time you have to wait and hopefully this will come down soon.

Please can we ask any of our previous/current clients who will need review appointments to contact us within plenty of time to get rechecks booked in so we are able to see you as planned during the rehab stage.

Thanks again for all your custom and continued support during this busy time,

Ruth and David.

For all clients due to visit us next week we have been informed today of a road closure affecting access to the clinic.

If your unable to get access from the main Staplehurst road (by the pub) you can access from the other end of Stilebridge lane via Underlyn Lane (towards Marden).

I have attached maps for your reference and we’ll try to keep you informed on the day 🙏🏻👌🏻

*”Should I feed a supplement?”*

We have had a lot of people ask recently ”what supplements do you recommend?”

Previously we didn’t have a particular product in mind, however we have been pleased with the results of a supplement called Bozmerix and Hesterflex. We now have a few of our clients using both stages with positive results and comments from the wider veterinary community have been very encouraging.

Below are links attached to some literature and a 30% off voucher for all new orders.

Should you have any questions or require advice as to wether this supplement is right for your horse - please do call, message or email us and we’d be happy to help.

It is a veterinary only product so needs to be purchased through a veterinary practice to ensure it’s used for the right reasons. Both stages are also competition safe.
