Rabbit Awareness Week🐰

Top tips coming this week….🐾

Today is all about vaccinations💉

A common myth is that if your pet doesn’t come in to contact with others, they do not need to be vaccinated. This is untrue.

Rabbits can become infected by insects which bite for example fleas and mosquitoes. They feed off the blood of infected rabbits a few fields or streets away, and then come and pay your bunny a visit!

Please contact your nearest branch for more information about vaccinating and protecting your rabbit.🐰

She is white with grey tabby markings, beautiful girl.
She is chipped but unfortunately the chip hasn't been registered so unable to find her owners.

Please call 01983 883955 if you believe she may be yours, thank you 🌈

The address of our new Ryde surgery will be Park Road, Ryde, Isle of Wight, PO33 2BE – the old Milmega building is being converted into our new surgery.

In the meantime, our services and opening hours remain the same at our current Ryde surgery. If you have any concerns about the health of your pet, or you would like to arrange a pre-booked appointment for your pet at Ryde, please call us: 01983 562878.

Wow six months of Sini passed so fast!
The team enjoyed a delicious leaving do for Sini and her partner Pete at Pavarotti's restaurant in Shanklin old village. You will be missed for your singing and good humour, and we hope to see you return to the UK for the winter again.

We have recently made the difficult decision to permanently close our Medina Vets Bembridge site and our Pet Doctors Cowes site.

Temporarily closed for some time, these small sites need extensive renovation and have limited facilities. It is due to these factors that we have come to the difficult decision that it will no longer be possible to re-open Bembridge or Cowes. We appreciate that this permanent closure will be disappointing news for regular clients of these sites.

We are pleased to confirm that all our clients’ accounts with their pet’s clinical history is held within a secure database accessible at our other branches in Lake, Ryde, Newport and Wootton. This enables us to continue to give care to our clients’ pets, without interruptions or delay. Healthy Pet Club members can continue to enjoy their usual discounts and savings.

We are delighted to advise that our Ryde Pet Doctors is also relocating their Ryde surgery to a large, new, purpose built surgery in a prime location. The address of the new Ryde surgery will be in Park Road, Ryde - the old Milmega building is being converted into our new surgery and it is due to open within the next six weeks.

This new site is easily accessible with the added benefit of ample on-site parking including disabled access. It is simple to transfer your records to this site if this would be preferable for you. Pet Doctors Ryde also offers The Healthy Pet Club which is also transferrable.

We are very sorry that we are unable to continue to offer veterinary services in Bembridge and Cowes but hope that our clients will continue to use our services in Wootton, Newport, Lake or at the new Pet Doctors Ryde.

Welcoming our brand new Vet, Guilherme, but most call him Gui! You’ll find him across the branches, learning on the job and enjoying every second!

Our 25 year old Portuguese new graduate Vet was born and raised in Lisbon. Gui studied Veterinary Medicine at the University of Lisbon where he undertook a 6 month internship in a small animal hospital alongside some amazing Portuguese vets.

Once Gui finished his degree he wanted to experience living abroad and the UK was the most captivating option for him, and lucky for us he chose the Isle of Wight!

In his free time he enjoys being outside and exploring nature, playing sports (particularly Basketball which he played competitively for 9 years), photography, hanging out with friends and writing poetry when he is feeling creative!

Gui has settled into ‘Island Life’ perfectly and is already a very valued member of our Veterinary team! ☺️

Black and white entire male cat, approximately 2/3 years old, has been brought into us by a member of the public from the Artic Road area of Cowes - opposite UKSA.

Sadly, it’s likely that he has been a victim of an RTA and he has crossed the rainbow bridge 😢🌈

Please contact us on 01983 522804 if you believe he may be yours. 🐾
