As many of you know, I have been intending to retire at some point during this year. I have now decided that the 20th of September will be my last working day.

Over the past few years, I’ve experienced ongoing back issues, and this is the main reason why I’m retiring now. It has been an absolute pleasure running the salon and working with you & your dogs.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of the clients that have supported myself and Louise over the last 13 years — whether you’ve been with us from the beginning, or are newer to us.

For those of you that haven’t yet met her, Megan has been working from our space for the last couple of months. She will be taking over the salon once I’ve left — and I hope many of you will support her business.

Thank you so much again for all your support,
Mike

From Tuesday 25th June there will be another groomer working in the salon on a self employed basis & she will be fully insured.
Megan is local to the area & some of you may already know her or may have seen her when she would be walking the dogs she used to look after.
Megan has completed a AIM Level 3 dog grooming course & has also completed a Emipet course in ultra sonic teeth cleaning.
Megan will be taking payments for any grooming & teeth cleaning directly & will have details of her costs that she can pass on to you. Messages for her can be left on the main salon landline 01603 431869 but please note there is no access to her through the salons social media pages.
We very much look forward to welcoming Megan.

Just a gentle reminder
Norfolk County Council Highways seem to be digging up every road around the salon.
Please give yourself plenty of time to arrive on time both for your appointment and pick up time as it’s a one in one out, and lateness affects later clients
Thank You
Mike

Personal Note from Louise;

Gulp… where do I begin.

To you All; Thank you 🙏🏻
Thank you for your custom, thank you for your loyalty & most of all, thank you for sharing your lives with me. I have experienced on the sidelines many of you through the best & worst times of your lives; beginnings or ends of relationships, new homes, births, marriages, divorces & the losing of loved ones & of course not to forget the losses of all the many, many cherished dogs…
I have laughed & cried with so many of you & have enjoyed all the chats (I’m pretty good at chatting 😆)
I’ve been self employed for over half of my working life & for the past 17 years have worked with dogs as a trainer & then in this salon.
This day however had to come, it’s certainly not been easy at the age of 52 to navigate the job market & make this absolutely huge leap & departure from everything I know, but Mike needs to slow down & not feel the pressure of working so much & be able to have more freedom in how many days he works. He deserves that.

& so To Mike;

The always ever so slightly grumpy but oh so tolerant business partner/ ex husband/ & now O.A.P (😆)
Thank you… we proved everyone wrong & pretty successfully navigated 12 1/2 yrs in business together all after being divorced! There have undoubtedly been ups & downs but look how well we did working together with all those sharp objects around! 😆
You have continued to always support me in everything I do & I have leant heavily on you in so many drama/emergency situations.
So, you are not so bad 😉
I’m really looking forward to the massive leaving gift from you tomorrow… I’m imagining it’s a new car right? Xx

So… a farewell to All for now, Mike can point you in the right direction if you want to stay in touch on socials & I look forward to saying hello to anyone popping by in Wells!
Much Love & Gratitude
Louise Xx

As many of you know Louise has been looking for a new full time job.

Tomorrow is her last day at the Salon, so I would like to take this opportunity to thank her for all the work and support for the last 12yrs 6mths and wish her well in her new job at Mine in Wells next the Sea

Over the coming weeks there are some major changes taking place in the salon. Mike will be working on his own so will be doing less days meaning fewer dogs.

Due to our insurance & for Health & Safety reasons there will unfortunately be some dogs that currently come to us that will no longer be able to.

Multiple dogs from the same household will also have to come individually.

From the 23rd March appointments that have been booked from lunchtime onwards will need to have a slight time adjustment and/or move to another day.

There is a lot of admin that needs to take place in the next couple of weeks to make way for these big changes & we will be in touch with anyone affected, so please bear with us.

If anyone that currently has appointments booked from 23rd March feels the incoming changes won’t be suitable for them & you would prefer to try someone else to look after your dog(s) grooming needs, then please don’t hesitate to give us a call & we can cancel your upcoming appointments.

More info will follow, thank you for your understanding.

🏡 New Home Needed 🐾

Due to work commitments & a change in domestic circumstances, we have a customer who needs to rehome their 3 year old (4 in August) Male, Black, Cockerpoo. He is Neutered.
An experienced dog owner, with time to give to this little boy is important as he is a little nervous & I’m told can be a bit snappy with other dogs & he is also food possessive.
We have groomed him since Jan ‘21 & can honestly say we have never had a problem with him.
If anyone is interested please message me & I can connect you to the owner for more information.

It's pancake day and with our easy to make pet friendly pancake recipe, there is no reason why your four legged family members have to miss out.

To make 1 large pancake you will need:

• 1/4 cup plain flour
• 1 egg
• 6 tablespoons of water

Optional toppings

• a drizzle of honey
• natural peanut butter (xylitol free)
• Banana

1. Sieve the flour into a bowl, add the egg and water and whisk together.
2. Heat a frying pan to a medium temperature.
3. Using a tablespoon or a ladle, pour your pancake batter into the pan.
5. Cook for 30 seconds on each side.
6. Wait until your pancake is cool, add your toppings and serve

Don't forget to share your pancake pictures with us.

So as promised here is a positive post!

We have been hooked back up to the mains supply & so we now have power!! The cables are currently being removed from the property & all of the generator ‘stuff’ is being sorted & cleared! We will be ready to start our day at 12.30 👏🏼🎉
Let’s get back to posting dog photos 😆
Thanks to everyone for kind words & support. So very appreciated xx

30/01/2024

Good Morning,
unfortunately we have not had our power switched on as promised at 9 a.m so have had to cancel the first dog of the day.
They cannot give us a time when they will come so I will update anyone with appointments today as I know more. Very disappointing. Next post will be positive I promise! 😆✂️🐾

27/01/2024

Following multiple complaints from local residents over the noise & vibration of the generator we understand that this evening an engineer was visiting to switch it off. (Fortunately we emptied the fridge & freezer in the salon today!)
If the supply issue isn’t sorted by Tuesday morning after our two days off we will of course be without a power supply unless UK Power Networks switch the generator back on for us.
As a small business loss of earnings is catastrophic. We lost 60% of Thursday’s earnings & truly hope we will not be left with further losses when we return to work.
We feel we have served this community to the best of our ability for over 12 years now & even though we know the responsibility of what is happening does not sit with us, it is an uncomfortable feeling to think that local people are being inconvenienced & are feeling disgruntled.
Fingers crossed for next week!
We appreciate immensely the support so many of you have given us.
With love & respect
Louise & Mike
