🔹 What is a Hoof Abscess?
A localized infection within the hoof, caused by bacteria entering through small cracks or punctures. This leads to pus buildup, creating pressure and pain.

🔹 Signs to Watch For:
- Sudden lameness
- Swelling around the hoof
- Heat in the hoof
- Sensitivity to touch
- Pus drainage if the abscess ruptures

🔹 Treatment:
- Clean the hoof thoroughly

Q: My Mare is in season and has become nappy, what is best for this? Magic or Oestress?

A: With a reactive mare it is sometimes difficult to know whether to go for Magic or Oestress. Our advice is to look at the patterns of behaviour. If you see a link to her seasons then we would advise starting with Oestress. For most mares Oestress alone will be all she needs. However some mares, may appreciate the benefits of both Oestress and Magic, and if she is telling you that then adding a little Magic works well alongside daily Oestress. ⭐💙
