Pony Club Riders
You have to be in it to win it.
The Loretta Jackson Memorial Cup will be awarded to the member of any of the noted pony clubs: Christchurch, North Canterbury, Amberley, Hurunui, and Kaikoura who in the view of the judges best displays, ‘Pony Club values and qualities throughout the show.’
Only one horse/pony rider combination can enter.
Values and qualities as defined by the NZ Pony Club Vision Statement and included in criteria:
• Sportsmanship and citizenship - Positive , enthusiastic and friendly attitude at all times, with fellow competitors , judges, officials, friends and family
• Responsible and self – disciplined
• An etiquette of caring and showing capable riding standards and pony club management
• Displaying excellence, success, and enjoyment
Competition Format
Competitors must name their branch on the entry form and have completed 3 rallies as a combination.
Competitors will be competing in any of the designated ridden horse/pony sections below:
Groups A,B,C,D, First Ridden, Groups F,G,H, Pleasure Horse and Pony, Show Jumping, Working Hunter, and Show Hunter and must also specifically enter The Loretta Jackson Memorial Cup Class.
Note Hunter Jumping Ponies and Horses - (Round the Ring ) is excluded.
The appointed judges will observe the riders in their ridden sections throughout the day
Competitors will also be judged as a group at 7:35am in the main ring. Judging will consider riding standards, observations and discussions with competitors.
