The Waikato Outreach has had a Give a little for a while but didn't promote or make searchable until now- because now we need to!

The Outreach has had a string of unfortunately incidents this year causing costly damage to the shop we lease (which we have had to pay for putting us under financial strain and not able to help many animals in need).
Whilst the Police follow up on the 2nd incident where we have identified the offender - we will need to fix this window ourselves before too long.
We also have vet bills and another animal in our care requiring multiple vet visits.

If you cannot afford to financially help us - there are other ways - donate to our shop, purchase from our shop, donate pet food, litter (always need cat food as 27 cats in care) donate unused flea and worm treatments, cat cages, collars, leads etc.

We have kept our Op shop prices reasonable even though we pay market rent (increased this year) so the community can afford necessities so please help us out if you can.

The Hive is an amazing site that allows charities like Waikato Animal Outreach Trust a free mini website. The Sprout Design toys listed for sale on there goes straight to the trust. Without the help of The Hive and the promotions they do for us and other businesses we would not be able to do as much as we do as costs would be beyond us and we are very grateful for their support.

Thanks to the community we have now got this individuals name ‘Aron Ratu’

We would like some help identifying this individual who decided to try and break through our shop window (Dinsdale shopping centre next to WINZ) leaving it cracked and then coming back 2 nights later to try his luck breaking through it again.
Monday the 22nd of April after 8pm he was seen pacing up and down in front of our shop and peering in the windows looking at/for something, pick up a rock and throw it at our window cracking the pane then trying to push in the window .
Wednesday the 24th he was back to try his luck again , threw more rocks and pushed at the window .

Someone will know this person, he was seen getting into a dark coloured SUV on Wednesday night so the driver will be aware what he was up to.
We would like to discuss the payment for a replacement window or we will proceed with the police report and will press charges , just waiting now on the car rego which is on a local businesses camera footage .

We cannot afford to replace windows, before anyone says 'insurance' we can't insure a building we do not own ( we have asked insurance brokers as we wanted glass cover ) and our landlord refuses to cover with their insurance even though we are paying their premiums with the lease.
Dinsdale body corp who technically look after shop frontages have their excess so high they never have to pay on a claim conveniently.

In January of this year we had to replace a window at a cost to us of $932 which was broken by some ass hat that broke into the V**e shop next door - as a result we are behind with bills and can longer help anyone in the community with animals/food bank/vet treatments /desexing until these bills are caught up with , the 2 families we are helping will get the help they need but for now the Spca is the organisation to call.

We don't make thousands of dollars a day, nowhere remotely near it , we spend hundreds a week feeding cats and kittens in our care + all their vet treatments etc and then help others so having to spend money on stupid things like this hurts others too as we cannot help them now.

We have a Give a little to help with animal operation costs (Arlo's leg amputation surgery) but we may now have to extend that to help cover the money we lost on the 1st window.
A big Thanks to the anonymous person who donated via the give a little as it paid for Arlo desexing and helped toward his amputation surgery 💜 🐕

📢 Calling all Otorohanga/Te Kuiti residents! 📢

Our Otorohanga clinic is having a desexing day for cats for the next two Tuesdays (19th and 26th of March). Cat spays are available for $70 and castrations for $50.

Please note this is limited to Otorohanga and Te Kuiti residents and you will need to provide proof and a community services card. Numbers are limited. 🐈‍⬛🐈

The Outreach Op shop cannot take anymore clothing donations until the 1st of March .
We have been inundated daily with donations which is very generous - however we have reached our limits now with storage and sorting space.
If you have clothing to donate you can hang onto it until March or donate to another op
Shop if you wish .
Please do not be offended if we have to turn people’s clothing donations away , health and safety of our staff is important and we need this time to sort out the backlog of items we currently have at the shop and offsite.
