A deserved win for GOLDILUXE (S Spratt) yesterday over 1400m at Ruakaka. She went down a nose 2 starts ago and then hit a wet track, so was lovely to see her break maidens comfortably back on top of the ground.

A lovely filly who can go on with the job.

Stable maté FLAMBOYANCE (L SATHERLEY) went another nice one to quinella the race for us.

YOULEDO kicking off spring racing for us today at Ruakaka.

Race 8 at 4.18pm, he drawn 8 and has 4kg claimer Tristan Moodley on to take some of the carded 61kgs off.

A distance of 1400m which maybe short of his best although has won like this in a fresh state.

Was a decent run in very testing conditions last time out. Lightly tried filly still figuring it out but has been pleasing in her work at home.

A nice run from FINEST WINE 🍷 yesterday to run 4th (by a very narrow margin to 3rd) in the Rotorua Cup. She navigated a very testing track with jockey Lynsey Satherley , who pinched runs on the inside before veering wide on the corner and running home well.

Racing today at Matamata is last start place getter TOA HAKA (S Spratt)

He’s trained on well after that nice 3rd at Rotorua and has drawn the ace in Race 5 at 2.23. The track will be very heavy and testing which will be an unknown for him but happy with him going into this

Justamaiz Retired:

Long-time stable favourite 'Justamaiz' (Champ) has been officially retired from racing. The duel group-winning son of Guillotine and Arthena won 8 races and over $300k in stakes, highlighted by winning both the Waikato and Counties Cups on his home track at Te Rapa.

The big grey gelding has been enjoying the past couple of months letting down in the spelling paddock and we are now looking to find him a suitable home to enjoy his life post-racing. Please email or DM any expressions of interest.
