Heat stress 🌞🐄

It occurs when cows have more heat than they can get rid of and leads to more stress, lower milk production and a higher rate of diseases.
Temperature and humidity levels determine when a cow may start feeling heat stressed.

Contagious ecthyma is an infectious dermatitis of sheep and goats that affects primarily the lips of young animals. The disease is usually more severe in goats than in sheep.
People are occasionally affected through direct contact.

Contagious ecthyma is found worldwide and is common in young lambs reared artificially and in older lambs during late summer, fall, and winter on pasture, and during winter in feedlots.

It is diagnosed in a herd and treatment is started.

Treatment of Mastitis🥼🩺

Mastitis, or inflammation of the mammary gland, is predominantly caused by bacterial pathogens and occasionally mycotic or algal microbes. Pathologic changes to milk-secreting epithelial cells from inflammation decreases function, ie, milk production. Depending on the pathogen, deceased milk production may continue into further lactations, which reduces productivity and, for beef and other meat-producing animals, potential weight gain for suckling offspring. Although most infections result in subclinical local inflammation or mild clinical cases, more severe cases can lead to agalactia or even profound systemic involvement, including death.

Mastitis has been reported in almost all domestic mammals and has a worldwide geographic distribution. Climatic conditions, seasonal variation, bedding, housing density of livestock populations, and husbandry practices, such as milking protocols for dairy animals, affect the incidence and etiology. However, mastitis is of greatest frequency and economic importance in species that primarily function as producers of milk for dairy products, particularly dairy cattle and goats.

A Dog was presented with a complaint of hind limb lameness.
On physical examination, the dog feels some pain while on X-rays examination it seemed to be a case of an Avulsion fracture.

In Avulsion fractures, a tendon or ligament usually pulls off a small piece of bone.

A fracture is a crack or break in a bone. Most fractures result from the force applied to a bone.

Fractures usually result from injuries or overuse.
The injured part hurts (especially when it is used), is usually swollen, and maybe bruised or look distorted, bent, or out of place.
Other injuries, such as blood vessel and nerve damage, compartment syndrome, infections, and long-lasting joint problems, may also be present or develop.

Doctors can sometimes diagnose fractures based on symptoms, the circumstances causing the injury, and the results of a physical examination, but x-rays are usually needed.
