Happy Black Cat Appreciation Day! 😽

Historically, black cats have been viewed as bad luck and have been feared by many for being "mean." What is to blame for this? Superstitions. Black cats are far from mean and can be one of the most cuddly and loving pets for any home! In many different cultures, black cats can be seen as loyal companions and bringers of good luck! Scottish lore actually mentions black cats as being extremely helpful. Sailors and fishermen would keep them on their boats to bring them good luck!

Black Cat Appreciation Day started back in 2011 and has only grown since! If you have a black cat of your own, show them some extra love and snuggles today!

ASAH & APMC friends and family this is a reminder that we have a zero tolerance policy for harassment or bullying. Any aggressive or rude behavior is cause for us to fire you as a client here. And we reserve the right to choose to not see any patient or client at any time.

Veterinary medicine is a challenging profession and we love what we do! In recent weeks we have had an uptick in bullying and harassment towards the staff and it takes a toll on us all.

Remember we are a small staff and with just Dr Stein we book out 6-8 weeks for routines. When you get your reminders be sure to call us asap to make sure vaccines don’t go too far overdue and need to be restarted!

Have a safe and fun Fourth, and please remember to keep your pets safe. Fireworks are fun for people, not pets, please keep your pets indoors and safely contained, and keeping collars with identification on is recommended, since more pets go missing on this holiday than any other. This is also a good reminder to be sure that your pets' microchip information is up to date!
