Now that the puppies are 6 weeks old 🥳 I like to start exposing them to the crate 🐶

Crate?! But why🤔

A safe place for your pup to learn boundaries. Provides structure, prevents your pup from tearing up those favorite shoes or sofa (aka boredom), allows them to have a safe place to retreat if/when they become over stimulated, and prevents unnecessary accidents. Crates are not mean… dogs thrive off structure from day 1 🙂

Crate training requires gradual exposure, so I like to start the process early by the time they go home they have had some exposure and familiarity inside a crate. Gradually I will start to separate them and they will each sleep in their own crate.

Nina's Reindeer litter is now 3weeks and 4days old. This week we have started different noise exposure, whelping novelty items and gentel handling exercises. It is so beautiful watching them grow. 🥰

🤎A look into the puppies 2nd week of life. 🤎

The puppies are officially 2 weeks old now as of Sunday Jan 2nd. 🎉😀 Here is a look at what they've been doing these past few days.

Caring of Nina (the mother) 💕 is still top priority. Making sure she is well taken care of, so she can properly take care of her puppies. I do daily mastitis checks along with making her custom meals to ensure she keeps up with the demand of nursing her babies. 🥛 🐶

Next week I will begin implementing more into their puppy curriculum. Such as loud noise exposure. 🙂

Happy New Year!! 🎉

I thought I'd share a little behind the scenes of my daily routine with the puppies 🐶 (ENS, ESI & daily weigh-ings).

Why do I do this you ask?

ENS stand for Early Neurological Stimulation. This is a combination of 5 small stressor that kick the neurological system into action. According to AKC ENS has been know to improve cardio vascular performance. Resulting in a stronger heart beat 🤎, stronger adrenal glands, more tolerance to stress, and greater resistance to diseases. 💪

ESI stands for Early Scent Introduction. Each day I introduce a strong scent to the puppy to enhance their ability to identify, and react to specific scents.

Lastly, tracking their weight daily helps me make sure all the puppies are thriving & gaining weight! It also helps me know which puppies are the smallest and might need individual time at the milk bar🥛.

Nothing makes me smile more then new born puppies! Everyone is doing great and gaining weight. Mom is a rockstar and making my life easy but she knows I’ll have my time come 5 weeks 🤣

Look at those spots coming in 😍.. I put so much love into each and every pup that is in my care, when they leave a little piece of my heart goes with them all. There is nothing more rewarding than handing them to their new families and knowing I was able to lay a foundation that will last a lifetime! Showing these pups the world is safe, people are kind, and dogs are friendly. 😍 ❤️ 🐶 😊
