RED now brings me the dishes after everyone is done eating. I don't have to tell him, he's a great helper.
I have a small kitchen that gets crowded with 3 Rotties and a Whippet. If I'm using the stove I don't want them in the kitchen. No chaos at feeding time as everyone has to be out of the kitchen and wait to be fed.
This is RED, he was by the oven (I was baking) so I told him "out of my kitchen". I did not teach this to him, he picked it up from Tripoli who was taught it. Tango knows it also.
Makes for cooking and preparing their food so much easier.
Normally I post pictures but Daisy deserves video. This little Chihuahua did everything that was asked of her. Today we introduced sign language and she was a star. Daisy didn't like people she didn't know, wouldn't let anyone in her owners room until a whole new world was opened to her. The world of training and mental stimulation. Love this girl!
Meet Ryker, a German Shepherd born blind and adopted by a wonderful family. I met him when he was 4 - 5 months old. He's approaching the 2 year old mark before long.
His mom has done an amazing job working with him and we still have things that come up to work on, especially as he matures.
What I wanted to share with you is the video of Ryker playing ball, he has no vision at all. It also shows that special needs dogs do well with training too! Our Dog Scout troop has 2 dogs that are deaf AND blind. Their owners have done an amazing job with them.
So here's Ryker, love this goofy boy.
Do you have a dog that eats fast, inhaling their food? There are some great slo feeders out there and there's the snuffle mat. A client made one and gave it to me (clear plastic sink mat as base). I just spread the dry kibble all over it and put it on the floor.
This is a very brief video of my 9 months old Rottie, Tripoli, working to get the kibble. It took her about 10 minutes to find them all.
Great mental stimulation as well
I must add the puppy video, my Tripoli, a reminder of the high energy, razor sharp teeth, chewing on bedposts, drywall, baseboards, accidents because the human didn't pay attention.
An older dog will bond, there is no guarantee a puppy will bond with the kids, generally it is with the person who feeds/trains and is with it the most.
Christmas is not the time to get a puppy, too stressful and the kids have all the new things too play with.
So proud of Chloe and her dad. This girl has been showing some reactivity so management, training and a Freedom harness had her walking beautifully in her last session. Great job on redirecting, reinforcement and patience dad! Yes, so proud of these two!
My Songaa recently had an oozing large cyst removed from his shoulder, because of the placement it will not close completely. Movement prevents that.
This is how we get in the tub for hydrotherapy twice a day, we are in week 3 of that. It's improving!
Foster puppy Charly is so silly!!!
Beautiful day to have fun with the kids and do some nose work.
Not a good video, needed more light, but this is Abby the English Bulldog showing she learned how to shut the door! Love her personality and she did a great job training!
Sophie the toy Poodle had so much fun playing the keyboard! What a fun puppy she is to work with, so smart!
We thought we would introduce the tunnel, they had a lot of fun with it.
Carl was also introduced to the keyboard, along with other things.
I bought a new toy for tricks, all dog band, and let mine play with it. Both Bonita and Patton did well, Songaa just wanted to grab it and take it to my bed. He likes to keep things.
