FOUND LOOKING FOR OWNER!!!

This happy young man was brought in by a citizen who found him running loose. He is wearing a purple collar, intact male, no microchip & no tags. He is very well mannered, well cared for and knows more then common commands. His eye is gunky and irritated so possibly on meds to treat it.

If you know this handsome boy or his owners please let us know or let his owners know that he is safe at the animal shelter.

2 Pit bull pups found running at large near 20th & Olive at noon today. 1 female wearing a pink collar & 1 male wearing a blue collar. Believed to live near or on 21st St.

The Atlantic Animal Shelter is now hiring for a permanent part-time Animal Shelter Attendant Monday - Friday afternoons, alternating weekends for animal care 20 to 25 hours a week.

Customer service, animal care, handle animal adoptions, animal intakes, record keeping, & other shelter related tasks to assist getting animals back to their owners & helping adoptable animals find their new forever home. Schedule vet care, assist our community of animal lovers.

Anyone still needing to register their dog for the 2024 year will need to come into the animal shelter or contact us for access to the online purchase as we have had late registers miss use the online purchase.

Not registering is a violation & comes with penalties. Please remember to register your dogs every year to avoid the late charges & any penalties.

Easter Dog Bone Hunt 2024! Thank you to everyone who attended & donated to the event & support of the animals at the Atlantic Animal Shelter! We raised $365.00 toward getting the much needed additional dog kennels for our quarantine dog kennels so they can get time outside too.

A BIG THANK YOU TO Chad with KONG for the prize donations & Park & Recreation for all your help stuffing eggs & hosting the event, We truly appreciate it.

We are looking to host a Pupper Treat Event in October. We will be looking for volunteers & venders who would like to host a booth/table on the walking trail to hand out treats to pups as they trick or treat on their walk. ANNUAL EASTER DOG BONE HUNT!!!

Join us at 10:00 AM on Saturday March 30th at the Atlantic Dog Park & let your pups have some Easter fun hunting eggs filled with treats. $1.00 per dog entry (or donation), this is a leashed event, bring a bag to put your pups found eggs/treats in.

There will be a prize drawing for your pups as well.

Please remember dogs attending must be current on their vaccinations for everyone's safety.

All proceeds from the event go to support the animals at the Atlantic Animal Shelter.

Please stop in to the Animal Shelter during business hours with a copy of your signed rabies certificate (only your rabies certificate will be excepted) or go online to https://atlanticia.seamlessdocs.com/f/doglicense2024 to register & pay for your registration. You may upload your rabies certificate as a PDF or a JPEG format. We cannot accept the new I-Phone format it does not come through on our system.

If you stop into the animal shelter to register please allow time for the registry. We do not accept checks in person or by mail.
