Some of our finest felines are overlooked for foster or adoption because of a little hairloss and temporary rash. That's silly!

All cats and kittens with ringworm are FREE to adopt, including foster kittens and the kitties staying in the Ringworm Adoption Center on site!

Ringworm isn't as scary as you might think! It isn't a worm at all but a simple fungus. Many of the kitties at APA! have mild cases of ringworm and will need only a short course of treatment to be cured. APA! provides 3 weeks of treatment and support to the adopters of these precious kitties!

Don't miss out on an awesome cat because you're afraid of the fungus. They are so often overlooked you're sure to find a gem!

Fanta is very quick to purr her love and joy! She is interested and inquisitive about everything going on around her. She's a little shy in the shelter right now, but given her purry, interactive personality, we suspect she will be over that in no time.

Feisty. That's one way you could describe Bachata! This adorable, calico kitten is so spunky and playful.

When Bachata arrived at APA! her two front legs were broken and partially healed. We suspect she was snatched up by a predator, but managed to escape, brave girl! After exams and observation in foster, it became obvious that she would do best without one of these legs. It keeps her from optimal mobility. Bachata has surgery scheduled to remove this leg, and she will get around much easier!

She is now receiving physical therapy and will need it to continue in her forever home. Her adopter will receive full support from the APA! clinic until all issues with her legs are resolved. Also, both the clinic and Bachata's foster will show her family how to do the physical therapy...it's super easy - just Kitten Calisthenics!

Though almost a year old, Thumper is still a baby at heart. He will "nurse" on a blanket like a lil bebe! Lovingly hand-raised in foster, he's a cuddly sweetheart. He adores other cats, and we think he would be so happy with another kitty to catnap with.

We have SUCH a Happy Tail to share with you this week! After over a year of looking for his forever home- our wonky-legged, diabetic house panther Franklin has gone to his forever home! Franklin is a very special cat to all of us. He came to APA! with back legs that didn't really bend right, so we had to get creative with special litter boxes and ramps to help him get up in higher spaces. On top of all that he had diabetes as well, which is easy to manage but can scare some people away.

⭐ He found his forever home now and they are so smitten with him! ⭐

"He is such a sweetheart and is so loved! We initially saw a video of him on APA's page - I think it was back in March- and it was love at first sight. However, we were worried that we might not be the best home for him because we have six other rescue cats, and didn't want him to feel overwhelmed by the crowd!

Then, in July, Franklin's foster mom reached out letting us know he was still looking for a home- and that he doesn't mind the company of other cats. We felt like it was fate! We have a soft spot for black cats (they are so special, if you know, you know!) And we love giving special needs critters a home that loves them as they are, making Franklin the perfect fit! He has found his new favorite window seat, and conquered the couch. He takes his insulin like a champ, and his diabetes routine is really no trouble at all. We are so happy to have him be a part of our family and look forward to spoiling him rotten"- Franklin's New Family.

When Catty Corn and Freddie Meowcury came to the shelter, they came separately and were very unsure about their new environment or other cats. Both were rescued from the street as strays and both were shy and hiding wherever they could find a place in our feline leukemia adoption center. They very quickly discovered each other and found comfort and love in each other-- from then on, they were inseparable and gained confidence in people.

They have been doing amazingly in foster! Due to the incredible bond they have formed with each other, it would be amazing if a hero such as yourself could step in and adopt both together.

(They are both FeLV+ so they would need to go to a home with other FeLV+ cats or no other cats)

Foster or adopter needed! 🧡

Biscuit Maker has been through the ringer, but she has been extremely positive and sweet through it all! This little tripod is on cage rest and recovering from a little kitty cold. But give her some attention and she'll chirp away, asking for more pets and love. She is so jealous of her FeLVie friends who are playing with string toys and exploring the main room!

This gal is on oral medication for pain and her kitty cold, but is pretty chill about taking them. We can't say enough wonderful things about this pretty gal.

Jersey Bagel desperately needs you! She is thankful for all of the care she has received at APA! She has some spots of ringworm, is on multiple medications, and is recovering from a foot amputation.

But she is thankful that she is still kickin' and able to give snuggles and lovin'. If you have ever wanted to foster a kitty with socks, now is your chance! JB is waiting patiently for a medical foster who will be her hero this holiday season.

We are speeding towards Thanksgiving, and the babysitting requests are piling up! We have ALL sorts of kitties in need of holiday babysitters- from bottle babies to retired moms, there's a babysitting gig for every type of foster!

Our highest need days are the 21st-30th, so if you are planning on being in town we would absolutely love your help! We are happy to lend supplies such as crates and carriers and to stock you up on food so that you can keep your holiday houseguests safe and cozy while their fosters are out of town.

We have a very special Happy Tail to celebrate with you guys!

Frankie is our TWELFTH incontinent kitty to find their forever home this year! Frankie's adopter fell in love with him online and requested a meet & greet. They had several in person meetings with Frankie so they could learn about his care and how to express his bladder.

We're so grateful to fosters and adopters like this! Frankie was found outside as a kitten. He had suffered an injury that left him both paralyzed and incontinent. In most places, this would have meant euthanasia for a kitten. His finder had no idea how to care for an incontinent kitty, but they learned from their vet. Once they got comfortable with his care, they reached out to our PASS program for assistance. Frankie's finders agreed to foster Frankie till his forever home was found, and in return APA! took Frankie into their care so that we could help get him adopted!

Frankie found his forever home 62 days later! We'll continue to support Frankie's foster till they feel comfortable with his medical and expression routine. They'll have access to our Facebook group to connect with other area adopters, fosters & sitters too!

He was returned to the shelter yesterday due to no fault of his own. Uncle Albert is quite the extrovert - especially when it comes to humans. He definitely enjoys a good cuddle...as long as it's on his own terms. When he's snuggled up next to you, you'll have no doubt that he's a full-blown sweetheart!

Our poor boy has stomatitis which makes his mouth hurt. He eats only soft foods and is on a few pain killers. He has done well with other kitties in the past, and does well with a slow introduction to small dogs.

Albert does best in a stable environment so we're looking for a foster who can see him through to adoption if at all possible! if you're heading out of town for Thanksgiving your home would sadly not be a great candidate.

Albert is FeLV+, so in need of a foster home with FeLVies or no other cats.

"It's A Long Way to Tipperary" is a British ditty about longing for home. Listen to it a few times and you just may never get the chorus out of your head! Same goes for our little Tipperary, read on and you won't be able to stop thinking about him!

Similar to the song, Tipperary is thinking about home, in his case a forever one. He's the cutest little tabby who loves a good belly rub and to go on kitten adventures. Exploring new spaces is incredibly fun and chasing after wily strings is the end all be all of excitement!

Tipperary has experience with school-age kiddos and adores his siblings, Temple Bar and Tralee. He enjoys wrestling, romping and snuggling with them, and would love to find a forever home with one of them, both of them or another kitty buddy!

Boxer would be perfect for anyone looking for a cuddly, sweet, and friendly cat to be around with. She loves to greet you once you first wake up and will wait for you by the door until you get back home! She adjusted quickly to her foster home and is always on her best behavior. Her fosters love how snuggly and calm she is!

Looking for the ultimate lap cat? Sh*take is your girl! She LOVES people, snuggling and playing. She is a super super sweet cat that just loves attention and cuddles. She is also an absolute purring machine too, how could you not fall in love? You'd never know that she had to shake off some bad luck this year.

Sh*take is incontinent which means she can't control her bladder so her foster helps her by expressing her a few times a day. Our sweet girl wasn't born this way, she had a bad fall a few months ago that left her incontinent. Lucky for her, Austin is the safest city in the world for incontinent kitties and we always take our cats back if their owners can no longer care for them.

Sh*take came back to us and once our vets had assessed her needs, we set to work looking for a foster for her. Her current foster loves her dearly and says she is a fantastic kitty. You know what else? He had zero experience fostering incontinent kitties. Our clinic taught him everything he needed to know. Thanks to her foster, Sh*take is living in a foster home instead of a kennel and we couldn't be more grateful!
