BBBR IS A 501(c)3 Nonprofit Organization dedicated to Boxer and Pit bull breeds in Bakersfield, CA. Training is a priority, rehoming is a last resort. We operate SOLELY on donations and we rely on fosters to help us care for the dogs until a loving, forever home is found. Owners who prefer to rehome their dogs must hold their dog until we find a qualified, loving home. They’ll also need to be avai

lable to meet adopters. If you have found a dog and not sure what to do, we encourage you to always look for the owner first. Have the dog checked for a microchip (we do have a chip reader if you need help with that). There are many Bakersfield Lost and Found pages you can post on. We rarely post found dogs on our page because people wouldn’t come here to look. They’ll be looking at lost and founds pages. If you cannot keep the dog as a foster, then you’ll probably have to take to the appropriate dog shelter. We do not have a facility to take dogs in. We are a rescue but not a shelter. The Bakersfield City Shelter is on Mt. Vernon and the Kern County Animal Shelter is located on Fruitvale Ave. BUT remember that another dog or dogs will likely need to die to make room for the dog you take in. We are in a CRISIS of the overpopulation of unwanted dogs. You may be the only lifeline for that dog, so think about that first. We do help with stray dogs but only if a foster is available or if you can Foster that pup while we get things figured out for it. This will take time. There is no quick turn around for the dogs. 🖤🩶🤍 JACK 🤍🩶🖤We just love Jack's cute face! he has a great personality, LOVES the water and going on walks. We think he would be great in a home with land to roam and access to the house when he wants. He's good in the yard though too!- 7 years old- Must be the only pet- Great with people and has been tested with 10 year old kids and did great - Mellow energy level but is severely overweight. Needs to lose weight.- Doesn’t jump on you, decent on leash, mellow temperament- Loves his face kissed 😻 Best type of home for him is where he has a yard to roam a little and to be included as part of the family. One to help him get into shape! He’s been at the sanctuary for over 3 years with little interaction so he’s eager for fun and affection! He's a bit of a stinker with other dogs though so he should be an only dog

Petey found the perfect home! 🏡 Finally after spending the last 7 years at the property and now at a beautiful age of 8 is finally in a loving home!! This was worth the wait though. He now lives in Paso, just outside Lake Nacimento, in a much better place with the mom of his dreams…she’s perfect for him.

We do want to help get Petey all the things he needs in his new home. As a widow of a Veteran, we want to bless her tremendously 🥰. Here’s a list of things Petey can use in his new home with direct links to the item needed:

We were contacted by a new company in town Pet Wants Bakersfield West about partnering for The Pack Gives Back 2024 and we are super excited!

Do you love pit bulls and want to help but don’t know where to start? Love social media and/or marketing? Bakersfield Boxers & Bullies Rescue NEEDS your help!!! 🐾 🐶

We LOVE pit bulls and want to save as many as we can, but we can’t do that without support. In todays day and age, social media presence is EVERYTHING, and essentially how we’re able to keep our doors open to help the breed we love so much! We need people on social media to help get our adoptable dogs seen, help us get more fosters so we can save more dogs, and also to raise funds to take care of these dogs. We will provide the pictures and videos and then we need someone to add their magical touch and craft them into social media posts that get lots of views and likes. 🤩 We need at least one post per day, but some days may need more. We’ll communicate frequently about this, so don’t worry, you’re not all on your own! We’re a team, and we know that teamwork makes the dream work. 💪🏼 👏🏼

We have 16 dogs 🐶 currently available for adoption and they desperately need a loving homes 🏡 ♥️These dogs have been living at our new 20 acre property we recently bought in December 2023 called, Friends of Clyde Animal Shelter. When we say highly adoptable, we are looking mostly for single pet homes (no other dogs or cats, and older or no kids), and adopters who enjoy watching a dog, who has lived away from people for so long, relax into the comfort of their home. We want adopters who have the time to spend on walks and things to show a dog the world. These guys have years of experience to make up for. The purpose of a sanctuary is for a dog to live out their life in a kennel. It is not an adoption center and it is meant to save dogs from euthanasia. But we have come to know these dogs and feel they all belong and have potential to be in loving homes. They’ll need patience and an adjustment period but they will be so grateful to be living in a home and treated like a family member.

We are going to feel bad sending Bailey back to her fosters because Petey doesn’t have anyone to play with! They would be perfect together! ✨ Just a shot, is there someone who would love to adopt two best friends? These two were living out at the sanctuary, Bailey had been there for about two years and Petey was there for 7-8 years. They could see each other from a distance, but they weren’t kenneled together at the time. They were kenneled by themselves 💔 Their energy is perfect together, there’s no issues between them, and we would love to get them adopted together! They can go separately, both are dog friendly with most other dogs. But they are so cute together 🥹 Anyone? 🤞🏼🐶♥️

Little Jack is in Texas already and about to switch to his second leg of the trip. It’s been nothing but break throughs the whole time! He’s walking on leash, he’s exploring, he’s sitting in Uncle Daniels lap, he’ll jump right up in his crate when it’s time to leave, and he’s been FaceTiming with Aunt Sundee with lots of smiles! He has us in happy tears!!

Chico had become so kenneled stressed living at the property for years. Looked past because of a leg disability he has. A month ago an amazing family came along and ADOPTED Chico! He now has a loving family and a little furry sibling. We are sooo happy for Chico 🐶🖤

For you shepherd lovers, this could be the perfect dog for you! ~ about 4 years old, neutered, calm, confident nature ~ he’s gentle, loves to play fetch ~ great in the car, load up perfectly ~ loves to go on outings, excellent on leash ~ Has no food, toy, people possession ~ Not going to be good with other dogs, though, or cats. He prefers the company of his people and not other dogs. ~ not destructive at all, great in the crate, very good inside dog, has great manners in general ~ noticed he is fine with fireworks He’s Shepherd mix with something that has speckled feet because his toes look like little polkadot socks! You gotta meet this beauty. Videos do him no justice!
