I'm always trying to come up with new ideas or products to create. Here are a few of the things I've been working on lately.

The first are my dog shampoo bars. I've made them for years, but haven't always had them in stock. I use them on my dog and it gives him a nice, clean smell (and he's a Bassett Hound, so he needs all the help he can get!). They're gentle and have a light lavender scent.

The second picture are castile bars, fresh out of the mold. They're made with olive oil, goats milk, lye (no lye remains in the finished product, ever), and stearic acid to help harden the bar. Most of my bars will sit to "cure" for 4-6 weeks before I sell them, but these will most likely be tucked away for much longer. It's recommended that they cure for 9-12 months 😳 due to the large amount of olive oil used to make them. The longer curing time helps harden the bar so it doesn't get mushy, but also makes the lather nicer. You can use them sooner, but they can feel slimy, and nobody wants that! So keep an eye out for these incredibly gentle bars next summer 😉

The last 2 pictures are my new Saltwater Princess Mermaid bars. Topped with eco-friendly glitter for the perfect watery "shimmer", they smell amazing and are adorable too! They're perfect for beach lovers or kids who think mermaids are cool 😎 Although they still need a little more time to cure, they should be ready by the end of the month. Not into mermaids? I've got something new coming for those little boys who turn their noses up at mystical sea creatures 😁

Finally the jewelweed is ready to harvest! I'll be infusing jewelweed into the milk I use to make my Itch Out soap. Jewelweed is known for its chemical compounds that soothe itching. It works great on poison ivy rashes, bug bites, and many other skin afflictions. It's usually found in wet areas, or (ironically) near poison ivy or stinging nettle. It's very safe and has no known interactions when used topically. Keep one on hand for those emergencies!

Ahhh, I wish every day were this productive! But with toddlers, teenagers, running the farm, and everything else I need to do, the stars have to align just right for me to do so. Thankful it happened today though!

I finished up these little beauties yesterday. New conditioner bars!! They work amazingly well and go great with my shampoo bars. Made with lots of conditioning ingredients (including Panthenol, the same one in Pantene ProV), these soften your hair and add a level of silkiness to it without weighing it down. They have a slight greenish tint from the h**p seed oil and a splash of cranberry orange fragrance to uplift any mood.

The shampoo bars are made with a combination of ingredients that clean but don't destroy your hair. One thing I use is rosemary essential oil. Rosemary EO is said to promote hair growth. Anyone who knows my husband has seen his beard. He said in the past year of using these shampoo bars, it has grown much faster than before! Commercial shampoos are incredibly drying, leading to dry scalp issues. They make you think you need to wash more often, but in reality, that's only creating a vicious cycle. With these bars, you don't need to wash your hair daily. Your head adjusts to the gentle bars, leaving your hair clean. Follow up with the conditioner bar, and you'll have silky soft, manageable hair without the extra plastic filling up the landfills.

This time next month, I'll be leaving for a trip. The last thing I want to do is worry about my shampoo, conditioner, or body wash leaking in my luggage. These bars are compact, ideal for travel, and really do work! Give one a try and reduce your carbon footprint 😉

Opening Day at the Bedford Farmers Market is tomorrow! Rain or shine, I'll be there with a stash of new goodies. In addition to new soap fragrances, I'll also have amazing shower steamers, lotions in both the regular 8oz pump bottle and now new 4oz travel bottles, and shampoo bars (conditioner bars coming soon)!! I've been busy lately! Even with working like a dog getting things ready for the holidays, I still managed to squeeze in some soap time. I've been toying with some new products and really hope to have them ready by the time summer rolls around! My kidding season starts in less than a week, so I'll be busier with the goats soon. I'm always glad for my "milkation" so I can focus on creating, but I very much enjoy having fresh milk on hand.

Winter is here, and things finally start slowing down around the holidays. Farmers markets and craft fairs are finished for the year (for me anyway), so I shift my focus to other things. Kidding season is less than 3 weeks away, so I'm making my list and checking it twice, ensuring I have everything I could possibly need for kidding. In addition to that, I like to take this time to try out some new recipes. In the past week or so, I've tried out at least 5 new recipes, some that I've enjoyed and some that I'll never repeat 😂 My kids are the first line of testers, and for the most part, they really enjoy it! Close family and friends make up the second line. When a product passes the first test, it gets sent off to them to try out. I love getting feedback, whether it is good or bad. Tweaking recipes is something I really enjoy doing! So testers, keep an eye out. You may be getting a thing or two to try out in the near future! 😉
