MISSION STATEMENT:
To establish an off-leash dog park where dogs and their (owners/friends) have a safe, well-maintained area for recreation and socialization. To promote responsible canine care to Boyne area citizens and visitors who will uphold the park’s rules. To respond to the needs of a significant portion of the Boyne area population for a vibrant, play location for pets. The Boyne City Dog

Park is viewed as a canine complement to the town’s existing public parks. Location: The proposed Dog Park location is at the north end of town, near our DPW North Boyne yard, proposed to utilize the north and south side of Ridge St. This location is currently unused and undeveloped. The parcels are fairly level, generous in size, minimal neighboring home owners, near City utilities for water and future sewer connections with some mature trees already on the lots for shade. There are additional attributes that make this location desirable for this use. Volunteers: The City of Boyne City, through its Parks & Recreation Commission established a volunteer Dog Park committee who is willing to do much of the research and make recommendations to the Parks & Rec. Commission and the City Commission for consideration and implementation. They will also be responsible for fund-raising efforts to finance the proposed park and its elements. The committee which consists of community members, a representative of the Charlevoix County Humane Society, and members of the Leadership Charlevoix County program have already been hard at work narrowing down the location, drafting concept renderings, researching materials, cost estimates and will begin their capital funds campaign. If you are interested in getting involved or have questions, please contact Boyne City Hall 231.582.6597. http://www.cityofboynecity.com/dog-park-project-248/

I know the post is about cats on our dog park page, but I feel it’s important enough to share.

People all over the country, from all walks of life, care for outdoor cats every day. Like them, you’ve discovered cats in your community, and you want to help them. The Ridge Run Dog Park is closed until later this afternoon for w**d control treatment 🦮

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗱𝗼 𝘄𝗲 𝗱𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀?
Over time, w**ds can become a significant problem, affecting the health of the grass and the overall aesthetic of our park. By addressing this issue now, we can prevent more extensive problems in the future and maintain a beautiful and safe environment for our pets to play.

𝗜𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲?
We understand the importance of safety, especially when it comes to our pets. That's why we are using only pet-friendly solutions for this treatment. These products have been carefully selected to be effective against w**ds while posing no risk to the health and well-being of your pets.

Thank you for your patience.

Splish splash King got a bath!
King is a 1 year old pit mix who found himself with us due to no fault of his own. King has won all of our hearts with his sweet eyes and droopy face. He loves just about everyone and other animals as well. King would be an amazing fit in just about any home. If you are interested in adding to your family fill out an application and we would be happy to set up an appointment to meet this handsome fella!
