Puppy Hour Starting Thursdays in October!!
Thursdays from 6-7pm
Puppies between 8-16 weeks need early socialization for healthy development. Enjoy a fun-filled opportunity for your pup to interact with other puppies, people and experiences. Reserve your spot and give your puppy the best start in life!
Your Puppy Will:
• Enjoy off-leash play with other vaccinated, similarly aged puppies.
• Encounter new obstacles for socialization and exposure.
• Receive close supervision from our enrichment specialists for safe play.

Some dogs have so much energy, they just love to jump as high as possible. The high jump could be when your dog hops straight up and down because they are excited to see you. Or it could be jumping over an obstacle. We will test your dogs jumping skills this week!
During this week's 1:1 Enrichment session they will have the opportunity speed sniff to find 10 different treats. If you would like to add this to your dogs day, please let us know! Each session is $10.

Training Tutor
At Central Bark Brookfield, we have a program called Training Tutor. Our trainer, Courtney works 1:1 with dogs during their rest period on basic manners, impulse control, loose leash walking, or whatever manners need improvement. We send home videos and homework so the progress we make can transfer to their time at home and away from day care.
Training Tutor takes place in a real-life setting surrounded by real-life distractions. We work on loose leash walking in the Market area where there are people coming and going. We practice in the indoor and outdoor play areas that offer many different sights, sounds, smells and distractions which help increase confidence.
As the skills are developed and a history of being reinforced develops in new areas/around new distractions over time, the skills may begin to generalize to playgroup, home, and other
environments. The dog receives an even greater balance of physical exercise and mental stimulation.
It’s FUN and the dogs enjoy personal one-on-one time with the staff!

Does your dog pull when you try to walk? Let us help ensure you have the right tools for walking your dog! Whether it is coming in and out of day care, or going on a hike, we want you to enjoy the time spent with your furry friend.

There are so many tools to choose from and it's hard to know which is the best fit for your dog. When choosing a walking harness or tool here are some do's and don'ts!
What we suggest not using:
1 - Black clasping harnesses - it actually encourages pulling and makes walking your dog on a leash even more challenging!
2- Retractable Leashes - encourages pulling and does not allow you to manage the dog while walking. '
3- Flat Collar/martingale collar - can cause possible damage or injury to the esophagus or trachea.
4- Prong Collar/Choke Chain - incorrect corrections can cause behavior issues on a leash and can also cause injury to the neck, esophagus or trachea.

What we do suggest using (All Options Carried at Central Bark Brookfield):
1- Front Clip/Chest Clip Harness (Easy Walk Harness) - prevents pulling and is much easier to manage.
2- Head Halter (Gentle Leader)- Prevents pulling and is easier to manage.
3- Belly Leash (EZ Leash) - Discourages pulling and is easier and safer to manage.
