We are an all volunteer based non-profit that provides comfort to our shelter animals in Maricopa Co The 2016-2017 season started in the same manner.

During the 2015-2016 winter season, an urgent plea was sent out on Facebook asking for assistance with washing the mounds of dirty (and very smelly) blankets that were piling up at the local shelter. Armed with a pickup truck, some laundry supplies and quarters, my daughter, one of my granddaugthers and me set out to wash dirty laundry every Sunday morning. Thanks to the people that started to fol

low us on Facebook that first season, we were able to clean between 80 - 125 loads of blankets every weekend. They were instrumental in supporting us with funds to purchase laundry supplies as well as quarters for the washers and dryers. The three of us and our supporters who continued providing funding and the all important laundry supplies. Little did we know that our East Side Elves group was going to become a reality! We put out a plea for anyone that was looking for a good time helping us on Sunday mornings by washing blankets to join our fun at the laundromat. What happened next was and is still an amazing story of community spirit. Our little group of 3 has grown to 18-20 Elves that show up every Sunday when it's cold to do laundry! This past winter, the East Side Elves successfully cleaned and returned over 4,500 loads of blankets to the shelter so our temporary guests had warm/clean blankets to lay on. (This is in addition to the laundry that was able to be processed at the shelter). We don't want to stop at just laundry. You see, our shelter pets also benefit tremendously when we help provide collars, leashes, toys, training treats, enrichment activities to help them remain entertained while in their kennels. Our group has a much bigger plan now but we need you, the Facebook community, local, regional and national supporters that are able to help us by donating to our cause. Maricopa County Animal Care & Control shelters have almost 1,000 dogs in their care.
That's WAY OVER CAPACITY!
Free adoptions are currently underway. Help them get at least 200 dogs adopted within the next 7-10 days

The ducks ran! Alena Leos Almendarez some of your ducks finished 1st & 3rd. Kimberly Leach was the 2nd place winner. Thank you to everyone that participated in our second duck race!

Raffle items for Golf has gone to the dogs ....

AND......she's outta there! Danae now known as Darcy. She's an honorary pittie thanks to our friends @one Love animal rescue. Darcy is safe from the elist and will be ready for her new family once she's all cleared and fattened up.some Darcy is still fearful of people she doesn't know but will quickly be your friend if you have some high value goodies. My.go to is turkey and Zach was able to make friends with her today too. Shepherd lovers.....she's going to be amazing!

URGENT!!!!!Unicorn adopter/foster for rescue needed!!!!!! Andromeda is on a deadline to get OUT of the Maricopa County Animal Care Shelter in Phoenix!!! She is in danger of being euthanized. She MUST be an only animal and NO children. She is a sweet girl that needs a calm home. She won't require much other than a companion!!

Papa is feeling a little better today and ate a little tasty chicken his friend Tina made.

The East Side Elves resident helper dog inspected every item in the delivery last night to ensure all of these treats pass his inspection to go to the shelter. They were ALL Jack approved.
