The story of 4.
These 4 amazingly beautiful souls were due to be euthanized in a rural animal control facility in Clarendon County, SC. Not because they were aggressive or bad dogs but because the shelter doesn’t adopt out to the public. They hold and euthanize.

A rescue in Oregon saw their posts and offered to be their savior. This is where WE came in. 💞

The challenge?
1. Transport dogs to Oregon from SC
2. Find 4 fosters who could hold them until transport leaves.
3. Medically ensure they have been fully vetted to comply with the USDA Transport guidelines and Oregon state regulations.
4. Make all of their spay/neuter appts, ensure they are fully vaccinated, get fecals to be negative and provide health certificates.
5. Transport them from the shelter to the fosters and to their vet appts. Ensure fosters have supplies.

Easy right? 😅🤣

This is what we do! 💕
In two days, we found a will and connected a village to save Caramel’s life, a sweet senior who arrived at the shelter after her owner went on hospice. 😕

In 48 hours, a team mobilized and Caramel is on her way to NH from SC. We are so happy for her. Onward! 💕

Journey Home Rescue Alliance pulled these two dogs from facing euthanasia. They paid to get them fully vetted (age appropriate vaccines, microchip, altered etc.). These pups are in a rural shelter in SC and heading to the Charleston, SC area. They are safe!!!

Bio: This puppy is so stinking cute! Well socialized and loves people too.
Other Dogs: Plays well with his littermate. Due to disease prevention, we haven't had them around others, but they would love the opportunity to play with others.
Cats: Playful puppy. His energy level will probably be too much for cats, but he is the perfect age to start learning proper cat etiquette.
Leash: No experience yet.
Additional Information: Owner surrender.

RESCUE NEEDED 🚨
Photos don’t do her justice. Her freckles, ears and eyes. 💕

This is “Sixx”. Sixx was hit by a car on Highway 6 between Santee and Vance 10 MONTHS AGO. The car that hit her didn’t stop but fortunately a young woman stopped and picked her up. After being unable to find any vet or rescue that would help, she contacted a local cat rescue. How could they say no? Sixx went straight to the vet for lifesaving surgery. Both of her front legs were broken… She had surgery to repair one leg and by the time that one healed, the other leg could not be repaired. So Sixx has an odd lump near the shoulder on that side. However, she uses that leg and can run and play just fine. Sixx also had babies. She nursed them all to perfect health. All got adopted but sadly her. The momma is always the last to go. 😕

Sixx is living in a crate in a hallway ever since and deserves a home filled with love, a field to play in and a couch to snooze on.

We will cover transportation to you from SC to as high as Maine if you’re a rescue. She’s fully vetted. And as sweet as they come!!!

The picture says a thousand words, but only one that matters. Adopted. 💕

Our founder happened to be in Elloree, SC visiting For the Love of a Paw with Mission Meow & Licked Pet Photography and as they walked into the cat rescue, there she was. Landie was a young pup in a crate at a cat rescue, why? Well because they had a heart of gold and didn’t say no to the call about a dog running around the landfill (hence Landie).

All it took was one look and she was packed in the car heading to Charleston.

One call to a rescue.
One foster.
One FB post.
One share.
One adopter.

Landie is now living the beach life in the Lowcountry. That’s our magic and we are so grateful for the village who saved her. 💕

FAMILY UPDATE 🫶

Babies and momma are THRIVING in foster. Saved during Tropical Storm Debby, when we got an urgent call to save a momma and her 6 babies from rural SC. They were dumped at a construction site enduring the horrible weather. Without even hesitation, a team came together and got them marked safe.

Babies are 8 weeks and growing like weeds. Vet appointment happened and we spent $889 getting them all seen (and started on dewormer and vaccines). Momma is over her babies which we can’t blame her 😂 (6 boys!! 😂). She moves to a foster today post her vet appointment (and another round of $$) to get all the TLC she needs to decompress and heal.

When this family is ready they will go to rescue but for now please consider donating to their medical so they can be adopted once in rescue.

During Tropical Storm Debby, we got an urgent call to save a momma and her 6 babies from rural SC. They were dumped at a construction site enduring the horrible weather this state was facing. Without even hesitation, a team came together and got them marked safe.

These babies and momma have been in foster for a week getting acclimated and decompressing. Their vet appointment is this week and we are facing a large vet bill to get this family healthy. 💕

Thank YOU to the village that came together to save them. If you can donate to our wishlist, we are in need of much needed items to care for this family. Food, p*e pads and medicine are our top needs. 🙏

Our hearts, paws and prayers goes out to this entire community and the family of Sara. There’s no words to this horrific tragedy.

We have dedicated this weeks transport to Tootsie and Sara, as our transporters heroically jumped to save lives ahead of the impeding storm. Together Journey Home Rescue Alliance saved closed to 75 lives this week. 💕

Two weeks ago, Oconee County Animal Shelter reached out blindly to see if we could help. Sadly this family was dumped on the side of the road while momma was nursing newly born babies…The crate didn’t have a bottom and the bars were crushing one of the pups legs as it laid there nursing.

The shelter rushed this family to foster and this is where we came in. We networked and networked and finally Hotel for Homeless Dogs Humane Society said yes! Within 48 hours, and with the tremendous partnership of the shelter, we got this family to meet transport heading to Rhode Island!!

Butternut and her babies arrived safely and have all been processed. They are on their way to foster as we type. Another family saved from rural SC and today, get to enjoy the weather of Rhode Island. 💕💕

“Even on the toughest days when you wonder if you can continue, you realize their fates & journeys are in our hands.”

Since July 1, Journey Home Rescue Alliance has helped positively change the fate of 43 puppy-to-senior dogs facing urgent situations, some minutes away from being euthanized.

43 dogs received commitments and are all in foster or on their way to rescue in the coming days. IT’S WHAT WE DO!!! We bridge the gap between rural overcrowded shelters and rescues. 💕

July 1 - today
🐾 Across 13 shelters (& 3 rehoming needs)
🐾 Sent to 5 states (NJ, NY, NC, SC & NH)
🐾 Sent to 7 rescue partners
= 43 dogs are ALIVE & THRIVING

All were 100% vetted and up -to-date on age-appropriate vaccines, sent with health certificates, transported around the state to fosters, AND then transported to their final destination.

Our alliance isn’t possible without our transporters, fosters, shelter partners, AND SUPPORTERS. 💕💕

The cost to cover health certificates, gas, supplies, transport fees or medical (if needed to travel) cost of these dogs is $1,428.

Puppies sitting in animal control and they are due to be euthanized immediately. RESCUE NEEDED!!!!

They are at the Animal Control facility because the local shelter does not have an open kennel to pull them. This is extremely urgent and without a rescue commitment, they will not make it out. Please share with everyone you know so that we can save this family. They deserve a long life filled with love.

Journey Home Rescue Alliance was created with one mission in mind…to be a voice for dogs without one & save their lives. 💕

Since July 2023, we have saved over 450 dogs facing euthanasia by networking them, sourcing rescues, moving them to temporary fosters and then transporting them directly to rescues both in and out of state.

We advocate.
We form connections.
We help financially.
We manage their pathways/journeys.
We save lives.

The main mission is:
“To bridge the gap between rural and under-resourced South Carolina animal shelters and 501c3 rescues by providing transportation, medical support, and/or other solutions to end unnecessary euthanasia. To champion voiceless underdogs by saving them off urgent lists due to the nationwide crisis in animal welfare.” 🐾
