July is National Lost Pet Prevention and one way to prevent a lost pet is Microchipping! At My Pets Vet we offer Homeagain microchips, a chip the size of a piece of rice that goes beneath your pets skin. The good thing about a microchip is it can never fall off or become impossible to read like a collar or a tag! Homeagain uses your contact info to reach you if your pet ever becomes lost. This month we will be sharing other ways to prevent a lost pet or ways to ensure they can be found again 🐾🐾

The month of April is month.

All it takes is one mosquito to bite one of your furry friends to transmit Heartworm larvae and soon enters into the bloodstream. Heartworms can live up to 7 years and grow to about a foot long. This disease is serious and potentially fatal and affects both cats and dogs, but the good news is that there is prevention for it!

My Pets Vet currently has a promotion going for Flea, Tick, and Heartworm prevention.

Dr. Janes grew up in Mason, Ohio where she was a Veterinary Technician for 3 years prior to attending vet school, at UCD in Dublin, Ireland. Dr. Janes graduated in 2020 and has interest in preventative medicine working with small animals. In her spare time, she enjoys cheering on her favorite sports teams and spending time with friends and family. She also enjoys quilting and snuggling with her two cats Minnie and Baker.

Meet Reggie! ✨

About a month ago Reggie presented to My Pets Vet with the complaint of not being able to hold down any meals— causing him to lose weight. With further examination and x-rays Dr. England was able to determine it was a foreign object that would need to be removed!

The next day during his surgery, a foreign object and part of his intestines had been removed! Reggie had a wonderful recovery in hospital. He is now back home with his family who are happy to see him thriving, gaining weight, and back to his happy self!

Did you know that its important to brush your pet's teeth? 🪥🦷 Brushing your pet's teeth every day can help prevent plaque buildup, keeping your pet's mouth healthy and increases the time between dentals! At My Pets Vet, we sell enzymatic toothpaste in flavors beef and poultry, which makes brushing teeth more enjoyable for your pet! You can use any children or adult toothbrush that can be found at the store. If brushing your pet's teeth becomes a challenge, we also recommend C.E.T Veggiedent chews, dental plaque removal flakes, and C.E.T Aquadent solution. If you are unsure what product works for your pet best, ask your technician or veterinarian at your next vet visit!
