We had our last big time together as a family today at Wesley Chapel! There was much laughter and tears.

And then along came Julius…

He became the best assistant I have ever had. I developed a lot of trust in his ability to restrain our patients for treatment, to properly bathe dogs & cats and his housekeeping abilities.

The one thing he taught me was that he believes 8:06 am is the same as 8:00 am. But all these 18+ years he has never missed a day!

I will miss his company and that quick smile of his! Thank you Julius for your time and effort over the years.

I love you and I will miss you a lot.

Daisy thinks Dr Bickley has retired strictly because of her. If he sits down, she’s there to have her belly rubbed. This is Dr Bickley’s next day of retirement. Don’t feel sorry for him!

The past 50 years at WCAH have been remarkable in so many ways. I could write chapters about our clients, about our patients and about our staff. Kim, Julius, Lisa, Tina, Stephen & Dr. Birch all have been outstanding!

These remarks are directed to Kim. I appreciate all your efforts over the years. You’ve always meant a lot to me and I’m going to miss you very much. You’ve made a significant effort to make sure everything goes as smoothly as possible, that the clients get A+ attention and the pets got the best treatment.

You helped in so many ways. I will be forever grateful.

This is what Dr. Bickley’s retirement looks like on the first day. Duck thinks he has the day off so she’ll have a warm place to sleep!

You're looking at a legend right there. Today will be Dr. Bickley's last day seeing appointments. He is closing the clinic officially on January 3rd, 50 years to the day he opened Wesley Chapel Animal Hospital.

He told me today, "I had no idea so many people loved Wesley Chapel as much as they do. I'm blown away by all the gratitude and love everyone seems to have. All these years, I was just doing the best I could do, to make sure all those pets were taken care of. It makes me feel very humble and grateful to have had an opportunity to do what I love."

Dr. Bickley, I will speak for everyone who brought their pet to Wesley Chapel Animal Hospital...thank you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, thank you for teaching me how to be a better pet owner, thank you for teaching me how to be a better man.

You are, have always been and will always be, my hero. It's been an E-Ticket ride! Now let's go see what else we can get into!

All good things have to come to an end! It is hard to believe, over 27 years ago I came to work for Dr. Bickley. He knew my only experience was that I loved animals. There have been many changes over the years in me mentally and physically. He has taught me so much. Most of you have contributed to my knowledge in one form or the other through the years. I keep waiting for my "Quack" Certificate! Every client has found a special place in my heart and so many of you have become part of this huge family. I would just like all of you to know you will be missed but never forgotten. Our paths will cross again.
