As many of you may know, Savannah shows her Standard Poodle, Jasper. I have enjoyed grooming him so much I’ve decided I want to work on other clips. Though she has several poodles to practice with, she already has them in their specific clips.

I am looking for a PUREBRED poodle to use for practice! You may pick between a continental, a German clip, an English saddle, or a puppy clip. It cannot be a plain summer haircut and HAS to be a “FANCY” poodle clip. It can be ANY size poodle! Toy, miniature, or standard. Though I’d love for a true miniature to practice with.

This is for my practice. You must stay on a two to three week rotation. Every two to three weeks, your dog comes in for a bath, fluff, and scissoring to stay in tip top shape. I will ask that you do some light brushing at home. You will receive a 50% discounted rate every few weeks as long as you are upholding your part of the deal.

Your dog will be treated no different than our Jasper is before a show. Therefore, your dog must act like Jasp and have basic table manners. No pulling their feet, no bailing off the table, not nipping, no fighting to be brushed, cooperative, ect. I will be picky on who I choose to practice with!

THIS IS A REMINDER:

Even if your dog doesn’t need haircuts every 6-8 weeks, they still need their nails clipped! If you are not walking your dog, clipping them yourself, or making sure they are filing them down, they can and will grow backwards into their pads!

It is only $5 for little dogs and $10 for big dogs! Why put your dog through the pain of having to walk like this?!

Savannah and I are out of the shop this weekend and in St. Louis for groomfest!

Tonight we had our first Creative Grooming Class! A sunflower for Savannah and a Poppy for Misty!

Savannah’s last little poodle puppy from Lena’s litter!

Today while worming everyone, I was having talks with them all and telling them about their forever families and how excited they were to meet them.

My heart broke when Chunk asked me about his future family. I told him that his forever couch is out there but it’s just taking them a little bit longer to find him than some of the other families.

He told me that he’s trying to be the best little gentleman in hopes someone will fall in love. He’s a boy who loves his food but also loves people. He’s a quiet guy (so far) as he doesn’t normally make a bunch out sounds or cries or barks (yet). He’s just got the most handsome face and is just the sweetest boy!

It’s that time again!

I, Misty, will be out of the shop from March 6-18th.

However, Savannah will still be working doing baths, slight trims, and select haircuts! You can get ahold of her through March 6-18th at (417)483-9369

If you need a haircut before I leave, please get ahold of me! I am going to cram as many people in as I can before I leave! We won’t be working this Saturday but we will be working Sunday to fit everyone in!

We now have a Champion in the house! My grand dog Jasper Stone earned his Champion APRI title yesterday, he also received a PERFECT score and got to compete in the TopDog show. Was so much fun, can't wait to do it again. Make sure you congratulate Savannah next time you come in, she stepped out of her comfort zone and did this! Proud of them both.

A little PSA as I keep seeing these recommended on social media by influencers and in groups.

Do you have a furminator?

Throw it in the bin.🗑 🚮

"But I get so much hair out with it"

A furminator is a blade. I've attached a photo of a super short grooming blade next to the furminator blade to compare. The only reason you think it works so well and you get so much hair out is because it's actually cutting your dogs coat. It cuts the good hair, the top coat and leaves long lasting damage, you may not notice at first or ever but its definitely doing the damage and your pups coat will begin to get shorter and shorter, becoming more sparse.

A good metal comb and a slicker brush are all you need. Throw that furminator in the trash bin.
