All Reptile Owners:
Wash your hands after handling your scaley friend! Don't give them kisses. Have a dedicated soak tub for them..do not soak in your sink. Bleach countertops and sinks after cleaning water bowls. Be extra cautious allowing children under 2 touch reptiles. Be smart. Be safe!

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a notice about a multistate outbreak of Salmonella infections linked to bearded dragons. The outbreak has affected 15 people across nine states.

Dr Nina Katzenstein is leaving us for sunny California! 😭😭😭. Here is a letter from her to her clients:

Dear SEAVS clients,

It is with mixed emotions that I am announcing my departure from SEAVS at the end of May to pursue a job opportunity in Southern California. I am sad to be leaving such a wonderful and unique practice, but I am grateful for the many opportunities I have had here. Thank you for trusting me with the care of your pets for the past two years and allowing me to learn from them.

I am confident that the exceptional team at SEAVS will continue to provide you with the highest standard of care and professionalism that you have come to expect. They are dedicated to your pets’ wellbeing and will ensure that your needs are met with the utmost attention and expertise. If you would like assistance in transitioning your care, please do not hesitate to reach out to me in the next two weeks. My final day at SEAVS will be Thursday, May 23rd.

Thank you once again for your trust, support, and understanding during this transition period.

Heres most of our awesome PM reception crew! They have to field the most emergency calls and appointments as owners discover issues in the evenings. It makes for some very late nights, but they power through with huge smiles and loads of comfort for anyone that needs it!

This week, help us as we celebrate 🐇VETERINARY RECEPTIONIST WEEK 🐢and honor our dedicated team at SEAVS for their compassion and charisma in bridging the gap between clients and vet staff.

Our Client Service Representatives are the first point of contact for the practice and provide a positive and empathetic experience for our clients and their pets.

They play a vital role in exotic animal medicine, skillfully managing appointments and they keep the clinic running smoothly for countless species and situations (so many different situations!).🦎🦜🐍🐁

Without our CSR's, the clinic would be in chaos! They are an essential part of our team and we are so proud to recognize their hard work and dedication to our clients and the practice!

🐇🐇🐇 Has your beloved rabbit friend been vaccinated for RHDV2 yet? Get your bun(s) protected! 🐰🐰

All rabbits(even indoor rabbits) are at risk to die from RHDV2, especially once it makes its way to Virgina in the wild rabbit populations.

The vaccine can be given during a technician appointment, so call today!

Did you know Dr Nielsen loves horses (almost😜) as much as she loves exotic animals? She even trained horses during college!🐎

After the stressful demands of veterinary medicine all week, Dr Nielsen winds down by working with her horse, Solè. This past weekend they had a very successful competition!

"It was Solè’s debut at Third Level, and the first show of the season. We made a clean sweep with first place in all four of our classes, and we took home the high point championship for third level with a 70.75%. "

Congratulations Dr. Nielsen and Solè!🌞 We hope you continue to have an amazing competition season!
